ftse 14: 6 opened higher, 7 lower and now 7 all w/l.

driving round and round the roundabout whilst deciding
which route to take. may go back to the start to pick up
a new map?

Morning all. New to the board. Trading the European indices. Anyone tell me where I can access the advance/decline data for FTSE and DAX? Bonsai? Tx.

cant do that anymore.
somewhere on the chart about 9am I think there was a failed 5th
of C giving a flat correction.

and I missed it.

A/D line stuck all morning did not support the index climb.

It was what I have previously called a 'suckers' rally.

Today was the 13th !
Seldom produces interesting trading days.
But I suspect a few may have gone with the rally and finished
with a loss for the day.

Now we must wait and see how deep we need to go to find support.
No suicide trading here please, this may have been a top.
Lots of Divergences showing.

Been out all day. Could be a top today. Hard to say as little buying or selling pressure. Still hugging the top BB. Expecting a turn around now, latest by Friday. Hasn't taken the high from June yet, but short is probably the place to be - think I'll wait for a confirmation. Took a small hit on my short yesterday.

mornin' all

so what happened yesterday then and why the higher opening
today?

yesterday seemed fragmented with some heavy fallers (even
when we were at the top for the day) and maybe bulls were
testing the selling strength. The result was another shooting
star so same comments as yesterday apply - with the higher
opening we'll need to go above yesterday's high for it to be
positive.

At the moment we seem to be broadly based with all ftse 14
winners on reasonably good volume.

it's a bit head scratchy?

good trading

something weird going on.
I put up a post a while ago and it seems to have vanished
into cyberspace.

Sharky !

your reputation has spread very wide then, its obviously
been snaffled for His own trading.

I think its still out there somewhere like mail that gets delivered late or text messages on mobiles ?

or as it was about elliott, mully probably intercepted it and tore it up ?

lol

it's definitely been snaffled then - only God understands
elliott waves

thank you for the mention re EW and lost mail, but I cannot claim any responsibility.

How do you see markets? Is this the breakout or just another attempt doomed to failure.

Find the low volume and the lack of SP500/NASDAQ confirmation worrying.

Also looking at your FTSE250, where the pattern looks more discernable is it near the end?

Like barjon find the recent moves very unclear. Do not know how the EW chaps can see a clear pattern.

Currently operating along lines of "if in doubt stay out."

mully, lol
suspect the sell off yesterday was a C wave to complete the 4th.

FTSE250 still seems to be powering upwards.
but it may be climbing up the underside of its trend line.
that is often a sign of an approaching top of some sort.

but not always.

addendum

if you go back to the old trend line from 3800 which was the
channel bottom, you will find that yesterdays sell off sat on the
top of that line.
