where you add, imo, is a money management issue.

having added, I must be able to get out of both at a net profit
if the market moves against me.
never ever,let it turn into a trading loss (even if the dow drops 100pts in 3 mins).
so your stop must be moved up immediately to better than break even + the spread and bias.

Hasnt mattered this time as I have closed at 25 now.

So, both combined net profit or each above entry. i.e would you say its risky letting the second go negative even if you are in
profit overall.

its very unlikely that any of us can pick the perfect moment to add
and see the market go straight up. So there is always the problem of seeing the pyramid lose a bit early on.

that's not of itself a reason to close. I think you should keep it to a 'chart' reason.

for example if you add now at 30, we have broken resistance
on the left, so 30 may be a good decision point ? as we may find support there ?
but 40 looks a tough nut, so a break of 45 may also be good ?

Morning all,

sorry to butt in on you guys, but i know that you lot are the "Boys in the Know" as regards the FTSE..

by all means tell me to jump off a cliff, but do any of you have 24hrs future data for a recent contract that you would be willing to donate to a worthy cause (ie me 😀 )

i know that i should be buying my own data, but im acting on a hunch here, rather like quasimodo, and so i dont want to fork out a fortune for something that may well be chronically poor... i would just like to test this idea on a small set of data, and then if it works out then i will be happy to buy a full set of data.

kind of like, try-before-you-buy..

However I dont store the futures data, so I cant help.

(use the cash ! Fair value on futures is well controlled and
perfectly satisfactory for what you have been trying to do.
Despite what certain other gentlemen keep saying !!!!)
