S&P 500 & other indexes - intraday. Plus chat

re: S&P 500 & other indexes - intraday. Plus chat

15 pts would be better though. What's 5 points amongts friends?

$800m would you say? :)

Might start a twitter whisper to TheBramble & EJ saying I've heard that the Spanish Government are preparing for an orderly default over the weekend and that JP's are declaring about 4bn loss instead of 2.

Reckon that would do it?

Pat, Pete and hwsteele will be the beneficiaries if price remains around 57 to close

Rumour ????

Fact is JP have lost 20bn not 2!

Problem with these derivatives is simply that no one knows what the risk exposure is?

Biggest Bank in the World and they haven't a clue on their risk exposure. Losses could be more or less???? Laughable tripe from Mr Tempest in a Tea Pot. LOL

Goat.

Did you know that EJ has nearly 10,000 twitter followers

Just had a look at Nicola Duke's tweet page.
Nice pic of someone's rear end.
Is she THE GURU of the face book, tweet world ? I haven't explored this side of things yet, but there is potential. Which in your opinion are the best for trading ones ?

She did have a picture of herself up more recently. I suspect there is some novelty in her being a woman and a trader, I sense this is a rare combination. On top of that, she is a very good technical trader from what I can ascertain so it stands to reason she has a disproportionately large amount of followers.

Personally, I find Twitter distracting in the same way I find news distracting wrt trading; It is just another form of editorial opinion with the editor being a participant on twitter rather than a news agency. I genuinely believe the mantra of trade what you see, not what you think and editorial has the undesirable effect of getting me thinking.

However what I do pay attention to but not necessarily whilst trading are:

https://twitter.com/#!/chitownfutures - Nice analysis using MP/Volume of index futures

https://twitter.com/#!/FuturesTrader71 - He's a very good intraday trader on ES, again MP/Volume based - I tend to look at what he's doing after I have finished. I trade in a very similar way but he is considerably more experienced than me and he has some insights into things I just do not understand or sense. I occassionally have some dialogue with him too. Despite having 10k followers, he is pretty approachable and chatty.

https://twitter.com/#!/theqwertykid - TheBramble because he is an old goat

https://twitter.com/#!/Macr0man - Good macroeconomic view, occassionally funny.

https://twitter.com/#!/GSElevator - Just funny

Best place for me to pass time is here with you guys tbh :D

Agree 100%.

I call the news - noise and that cost me a lot of money learning it the hard way. Still put bets down before major news playing BB breakouts to both sides but there is never a sure bet.

Not to marry an opinion or being right or wrong was the other hurdle. (y)

Gay.

ES frequently tips it's hat in the first 5mins. As it's in discovery mode to ascertain value with volume the mechanics it goes through are often predictable. You are missing good opportunities here lads.

Agree with this totally - sometimes you can get in very early without too much risk to find out if you are wrong.

Here is today's S&P so far. The markets seem to be falling everywhere.

The Greek problem is just getting worse and worse and not going away in the near future. I think the S&P & the rest of the indexes could really slide in the next week or two.

Spain, Portugal and Italy have all got the wobbles !

Frau Merkel is in trouble.
They don't like bailing out the Greeks for ever.
The eurozone founders forgot to set up a withdrawal proceedure ! Hopeless
