The animal should therefore be killed within the Circle, or the Triangle, as the case may be, so that its energy cannot escape. An animal should be selected whose nature accords with that of the ceremony — thus, by sacrificing a female lamb one would not obtain any appreciate quantity of the fierce energy useful to a Magician who was invoking Mars. Dittany of Crete is also a valuable medium. Both these incenses are very catholic in their nature, and suitable for almost any materialization. But the bloody sacrifice, though more dangerous, is more efficacious; and for nearly all purposes human sacrifice is the best.

no kissing up to God

As it is, the Christian religion has many things that do not make sense to me.

If God is intelligent and omnipotent, why did he create Adam and Eve and then the snake, too?

Since we are assuming that God is both intelligent and omnipotent, the story does not make sense.

At the same time, as I said before, demons seem to exist, and they are afraid of Jesus, so Jesus probably exists, too, and so does God.

Then, according to the story, God punished Adam and Eve (and their descendants), because they were tempted by the snake that he created.

But we also assume that God is just, and so this, too, doesn't make sense, because God is therefore punishing all the descendants, who are clearly not guilty for what their ancestors, Adam and Eve, did.

So, whoever wrote the Bible should tell me: do we say we love God because he is infinitely loving and just or should we not say that we submit to God because he is omnipotent?

Because the latter would make more sense, since he does not seem loving, he does not seem just, and it would be more coherent to treat him like a boss, and without even kissing up.

We kneel because he's powerful and forget about the kissing up of saying that he's infinitely just and loving.

I cannot feel love for someone whom I fear.

Instead most Christians speak of both feelings as coexisting. This sounds like kissing up to me.

So let us stop paying all these insincere compliments to someone we are afraid of.
