Dog Day Afternoon

Well, a bitch of an afternoon.

Five trades from 1330 onwards for -20, +5, -10, -20, +20.

Sitting on a loss today of -30 pips.

A hopeful recovery from the beige book data later today is the only opportunity to bring things back in line.

A tough morning and strong reversal on the 0930 news makes for 4 trades of -15, -5, -20, +10. In the hole to the tune of -30 pips so far today.

A good recovery this afternoon with two trades for +20, +20 off the back of the 1500 US numbers to bring the day to a close on +10 pips and the week to a close on +65 pips.

A further 4 trades through the afternoon news for -20, -20, 0,0.

A very quiet week which resulted in not enough winning trades versus the losing trades for me giving my first losing week since trading this methodology, ending the day on -35 pips and the week on -40 pips.

Still, you cannae win them all.

A total of six trades through the morning for +10, +10, -20, +10, -15, 0, resulting in -5 pips. Choppy reaction again to the news at 1100 which has been seen for the past wee while, need to watch that, a possible change to my methodology may be required.

Nothing else on the horizon for today, so we'll leave it at that.

US Consumer Confidence at 3pm today which should provide another opportunity, though the news recently has been showin some real strong reversals so I may watch a little longer today rather than jumping in straight away.

Afternoon Update

30th January 2007

Pulled back some pips today after a few days of turmoil.

Following from the morning session, this afternoon brought 3 trades for 0, +10, +10 for a net of +40 pips for the day.

The end of another month tommorow and the pip count for January is significantly lower than Nov and Dec, but still producing a consistent return, Jan will have averaged around 60 pips per week, compared to 100 per week through Nov and Dec.

A good few trades through the afternoon with 7 trades running at -5, -5, -10 then things got going with +20, +20, +5, +20 for a net total for the day of 65 pips, which brings a smile to my face and the numbers almost back in line with previous months.

Just the 1915 interest rate to go.

1st February 2007

Yesterdays 1915 report brought 2 trades for -20, 0.

Total on the day was 45 pips.
