You were even buying before you went out... and said it looks pretty weak ....

yes... a stop & reverse was the strategy but I didn't dare take the risk without even looking at the screen...

For those interested in the Nymex scenario

We have a beautiful pennant at the lows (best seen on 5 or 15min chart if using link below) this probably means a big move is likely - ..... since my bias is to the upside I'll be looking for price action to confirm a break to the upside overnight or tomorrow.... I'm sniffing for an entry from here on in ...I missed the pbk to 9250 zone

Despite my bias I'll short.... but I would prefer to get a rally to 9450+ zone which gets rejected - i.e it's too low for me to short and feel comfy .... other styles may be okay with it. My short tgt would be today's 9200 and any lower would be a bonus...

On dow - it's anyone's guess There are others far more skilled at that game than me.... as you can see from earlier postings today.

I tried to get long oil with CMC at 14:27 before the inventories came out, but no dice. They were making a price manually for every client, and after a few minutes I was advised that my order had timed out. Very unfortunate indeed. At £3pp, that would have almost covered my losses this month. I couldn't get through on the telephone, so I sat staring at the pending fill, hoping they were busy and would look at the order in due course, check the time, check the price, and fill it, but no dice.

I'm taking some time away from the casino also. It looks like I took the wrong week to do it, being a perma bear and all. Damn, something tells me I'd have covered my monthly loss today! Oh well, I don't trade this market any more....

It will be here when I come back to it with an edge...

I know you are a news trader .... but I would be uncomfy playing news unless I was pretty confident the market would go my way...

I prefer to get in ahead of the news especially if price is "stretched" beforehand - just ike tuesday night... price got trashed and I played the run up to the Fomc decision - without the news risk.

Tonight price gets trashed again and non farms tomorrow ... should be another opportunity.... but how big is unknown.

Figs should be bad but there might be a bit of buying ahead of the numbers just in case they are not bad yet ... market should get a little dead cat move anyway as some shorts cover - I love markets getting trashed into the bell with news pending the following day

I dont like holding on the announcement unless the market is offering me a fair degree of safety - if the market is high and I expect bad news I'll might hold it throught the announcement especialy if I have broken even cos risk reward is in my favour - whatever the outcome.

next stop for Citigroup should be $34....sounds impossible and will take a while but eventual target around $22.......

watch these babies as well tomorrow...about to break down..Las Vegas Sands (LVS) and Wynn Resorts(WYN)..both casino operators who've been bid up on China expansions...be lucky m8..

I think FW was just using a bit of understatement ...don't think he meant any harm........ I think everyone realises it was a "MONSTER" call .....

Both guys are very successful but use different styles/timeframes... I suspect

Any way oil now settled into 9420ish - 9320ish range ......waiting for direction.
Slight bearish indications implying a move to 9200 But for now it's not really that clear so scalping until something happens... Looks like that 9450ish Zone (mentioned previously) might be key going forward...
