Best Thread Correlation Trading - Basic Ideas and Strategies

here come e/U and G/u again...........

sorry off to meetings.......cant wait to see that U/J scenario on my return....fascinating as I play with my new toys !

N

nipped back...............U/J above 92.54.....i think the mood is changing finally

i suppose 92.59 now would be safer buy level if you havnt committed already....tag turning down again and I am banking on yen dumping in process

Tag Has turned upwards now with Eurozone as lowest of the 3 tribes....nice pips on selling E/U and G/U already for the brave

this does put a sock in my U/J buy strategy as a rising Tag favours Selling U/J in normal times when Yen can cruise comfortably above the USD.... so forget the buy U/J at present as it works better with tag falling ideally and this weaker yen scenario still in force

N

A while back I mentioned here about having a second tier Euro currency for the non premier countries....

I had a polite e-mail today for a guy that contributes as a euro expert to the FT saying it is not legally possible for the EEC to do this ...........

so watch this space then.......:sneaky:

N

92.59 got triggered on the U/J............i'm liking the tag falling so this should finally be some buy action......

gotta say though i find this a very uncomfortable pair to trade.....but will persevere for future reference

N

come on boys sort yourselves out...............

later off to meetings

N

Tag is gradually looking bullish (which is why the U/J buy is proving so painful to call so forget it)......if USD does fly the eurozone look weakest at moment

Hi N & G + anyone else,

So now we are officially in British summertime - and its raining outside!

GU; Very strange behaviour this morning, first trade entered long at 49835 on open 08:05 bar, price rose a few pips then retraced for three bars, recovered nicely at 08:30 bar, went on up to form new local high and initial SL moved up to BE but price chopped down again with 09:10 bar taking trade out for nothing. Then that was it as couldnt find any further setups.

EU; First trade buy stop at 34858 hit by wick of 08:35 bar, price moved up then retreated back down to near entry point, rose up again to make new local high then retraced again but this time with some considerable force and SL taken out during 09:55 bar for 18 pip loss. No other setups found.

EG; Complete mess chart wise for me here this morning, someone forgot to tell this pair that it is Monday and not Sunday evening!

Not quite sure whats going on this morning, maybe markets are taking an early easter break without bothering to tell us mere mortals? Be careful this afternoon as chop monster is looking real hungry right now - trade well and regards,
Simon.

Hi mate

messy indeed , my more established customised indicators (forget the U/J that is sooooo WIP) which are based loosely on 20ma's flagged up :-

Sell USD 05.30am (superb - but fat use except for fisherman !)
Buy USD 08.50 (missed boat - screaming buy way before that for ballsy traders - GBP was kind)
Buy USD 11.00am (zippo....flat USD - Eurotrades would have generally killed you in the end)
(ALL PER MY CHART TIMES that are 1 hour behind GMT still)

(see attachment)

selling whatever came to hand..........the early bird would have been nice but rest are small potatoes though (as USD gone flat !!!!!) so not buying the bentley so far today

regards
N

Hi N,

Wondered where everyone (well, you and G!) had got to. Chop monster is having a feast on GU so I think I'll give up looking for anything now.
Simon.

mornin all........

first of all my charts are 1h behind GMT......(how do i reset ?)

anyway - scrappy night, Tag team are not talking.....well in truth the USD has gone to sleep and Yen is dancing around it like a 3 year old....

this invalidates my more established signals leaving me no alternative but to continue to deveop my U/J strategies

actually I am just literally seeing a selll Tag signal but its a latish one into Eurozone as they are already moving up.....so scrappy signals as i said at the moment

lets hope things settle down later

not to shabby a signal though....the tag/markets (fab4) allliance came back togeher
at 5.45AM on the charts (-1h GMT)

Eurozone were already moving up so a nice little catalyst for an explosive G/U trade
