Brexit and the Consequences

Labour party represents the working man. Not as you make out the un-represented.

That indeed was my point: the working man was essentially unrepresented until the Labour Party came into being!

UKIP do not represent the un-represented

If that's the case, then why haven't the people who voted UKIP voted for existing parties?

People will believe what suits their ends and argument without much thinking at any deeper level.
While that's always true to a certain degree, that line of thinking essentially equates to "the voters are too stupid to know what they're voting for". One of the standard Remainer tenets.

Libdems did what was right for the country and formed a coalition with Tories.
Agree 100%

Soviet medicine jibe. Never have been a vodka man.

Not meant as a jibe although it probably appears that way! Just trying to emphasise the fact that as far as I can tell (and I'm only human) people such as yourself have been left out in the cold. Perhaps vodka is the answer after all:LOL:

Look at Osborn and Cameron. All that effort raising two dicks who've messed up big time. They both out played them selves with their political education and wisdom.
Same for Tony and Gordon!

Too many labels, so many that none of them have much if any meaning any longer. Even in the US, democrat, republican, libertarian, socialist, liberal, progressive, conservative, far right, far left, rightist, leftist, centrist, populist and on and on and on and on. And the situation is just as bad if not worse in the UK (et al). So much so that the intent appears to be and almost assuredly is to disguise the resurgence of a movement that threatens everyone and which will likely succeed because we are all distracted by what is essentially trivial.

What matters is the character and values of the politician, not the label of the party to which he belongs, particularly if he belongs to that party for no other reason than that it seems to be the best of a bad lot.

Focus on the person, not the label, particularly when so many labels, such as "populist", have become so contaminated that they bear no relation to their original meanings.

9/10 for your assessment c_v. IMO, the only thing that stops it from being a straight 10 is the suggestion of a Lib Dem mini revival. Is that really likely with Tim Farron as their leader? A man who, as one eminent political commentator highly respected for his incisive thinking, noted "has the statesmanship of a meerkat, but without the charm or brain cells."

It's a technical revival Tim:) A place for stray remoaners until they become fit and well, then rehomed.

Can I have that extra point now?

Yeah this very issue has been raised before and is all part and parcel of the elitist stitch up. It's just One big gravy train, jobs for the boys. This link between govt, MP's and business lobbying needs addressing. All of these questionable interactions are what turn capitalism into crony capitalism. Crony capitalism is a cancer that needs to be eradicated. It is the playground for the elites.

Yet another reason why we voted for Brexit. The more layers of govt you can remove and the easier it is to make those in charge accountable. For a long time now our own politicians have been able to throw their hands up and get away with saying "nowt to do with me gov, EU legislation innit". It's simply not good enough.

Remember, they work for us and we should remind them of that fact at every available opportunity.

Trump should be a breath of fresh air then. He clearly belongs to no party. Last I heard he was taking power back to the people. More of a Libertarian stand point.

Actually it can't be eradicated. The "crony" part is a characteristic of capitalism, except in textbooks.

Sure it can be got rid of. A good start would be to limit the size, role, and sphere of influence regarding the government. The whole idea that "govt knows best" therefore we should all just blindly follow along, is completely absurd.

Once govt is out of the way, the people will be able to make their own choices about what they want and what is best for them.

This is the age of disruption and people should not underestimate it's power, both for good and bad. :)

Having govt "out of the way" won't matter. Capitalists work together for their mutual benefit regardless of the governmental role.

This is what TM maybe signing up to folks.

Watch this film very carefully. I implore you. Any agreement accepting TTP will have sever consequences on you, your family and future of your grand children.

Farmers will be screwed to the bone. I mean sued. Companies like Monsanto will sue the media and scientists and any opinion that libels their produce, whether they win or not.

They feed cows, who never see any grass, corn and hormone growth GM shiite, which is counter to theirr natural food intake, leading to all sorts of gut bacteria mutation and growth of ecoli.

This movie is like a horror movie.
This is why EU rejected the deal.

Please watch, be aware and fight the filthy sick capitalist system hell bent on earning their profits off the suffering of people.

Change the system. :!::!::!:

The cancer took hold the moment that you allowed McDonald's to open up a shop near Piccadilly Circus.

The real Brexit test will be how many votes the UK gets in Eurovision and how the other countries will vote. We will either be loved or hated or just, well maybe it'll be a damp squib.

Have you been on some space mission or what?

If the EU giving us deux puan for the last decade has been loving us I'm dying of suspense to find out what they'll give us should they come to hate us.

Brussel sprouts maybe...

My understanding is that the Eurovision negotiations look likely to be a major sticking point of Brexit. Apparently, the UK government want full and unfettered access to the competition but Brussels are adopting punishment mode and will require a very large financial contribution (approaching billions – that's the word going round well informed political journalists at the moment) to even consider ongoing participation.

Westminster rumours say that this is causing considerable difficulty for the Labour Party who are entirely split on the issue. The shadow chancellor says that he would borrow the money if it was up to him and Diane Abbott will only support that if we have a 100% ethnic minority entry.

The Scot Nats are wanting a judicial review regarding our participation (they have serious City of London fund manager financial backing) and are insisting that this is a major factor in persuading the Supreme Court that we should remain.

The Greens say that the only way to ensure participation is to build more wind farms and the Lib Dems are saying that their support for the Eurovision contest is the key for their return to power.

Several people I spoke to in the street today basically said they couldn't give a $hit.

Which street was that then? Penny Lane?
