Brexit and the Consequences

See how the story is now twisted to state that the majority are MPs and not the people that voted.

Its no different that the article I read last night about a million people signing a petition for a new vote. They are about 16.5 million short of a majority

It often seems that many political Wonks just do not understand simple arithmetic!

What’s twisted about that? The whole sense of the article is that the brexiteer MPs are (and always have been) a small minority group of conservative MPs swelled by those who have accepted the result of the referendum.

It undeniable that this small group of MPs have got their way against the majority (large) view of the governing party who would have led the country in a different direction. The people have, of course, spoken (or just over half of those who could be bothered to vote anyway) so we are set on a course that’s looking evermore rocky. Good luck to us, or to my grandkids since i’ll probably not see the long term outcome.

I'm not disputing your view that the article is highlighting that Brexiteer MPs are the minority, that's a fact, and one of the main reasons we are having so much difficulty leaving the EU.

I take issue in that article is written in a way to make you believe that the majority view of MPs who are remainers should be used as the basis for staying in the EU.

MPs are our elected representatives, and as such should represent the majority view of the electorate, as with so many things these days, they are ignoring the majority view of the electorate and trying to do things their way!

The article insinuates that it's the small minority MPs holding the majority to ransom, when the reality is that the majority have been playing the game all along as they are all remainers, this is what TM and her deep state civil service want, as do the EU. A muddled outcome based on denying democracy to those that voted out.

Ultimately a twisted fake news story by a left wing media.

Oh,dear! They didn't lke that, Jon. Whenever will they like news items that we do read? Here's another one from the leftie press.

I am not, really, trying to influence the hardliners. They are beyond redemption. I'm trying to get to the doubters, before it is too late.

"we built a “synthetic doppelganger”, says it all. So they invented a chart to run alongside apparent real results so they can create a narrative to blame Brexit.

Try again chaps, let's see if you can find some real news?

Just shows how you can read an article and come to diametrically opposed conclusions depending on your personal point of view. Needless to say I come to the opposite conclusion to you

Unfortunately your assertion doesn't hold water. Whilst exports and trade with the EU may have dipped a bit, our exports in general have seen a massive rise. All along we have explained that Brexit would damage the EU side much more than the UK, but your side would rather listen to "the experts" in conjunction with "deep state" propaganda.

Selective statistics, no doubt produced by any one of the tens of universities that Sponsor 'The Conversation' and the ex-Guardian journos that run it :D

Is this guy a representative remainer? Does he see the irony?:LOL:

Typical of this thread. Whenever the Brexiters present the hard facts and reality, they are met either with leftie utopia hogwash or a wall of silence. Me thinks remainers don't have the answers, that's how clever they are.

Shuffle deck and pick one, then pick anything from their well worn mantra to go with that particular NPC, it doesn't matter what the combination is, they are all the same

The universities depend on EU for handouts. Like all good socialist systems, if you don't behave then your pocket money will be docked. (n)

One only has to look at the devastating consequences that befell this country after we voted to leave the british empire.

We were relegated to one of the richest countries in the world. Nuclear power, free NHS, ever rising living standards, the misery was endless.

If we couldn't get that right, then how the hell could we possibly survive leaving the EU and joining 'the rest of the world club' ?

Joking aside-

Even though I voted to take back our country I can understand the remainers concern about how a bankrupt and totally undemocratic institution like the EU will manage without us.

I get it. The EU needs our help to reform it from a German led dictatorship into ... something else nobody wanted, needed or voted for.

This is what happens when you give people a vote. They will vote for the freedom to control their own destiny.

One can see how this is in direct opposition to the EU's self stated goals and policies.

The EU is exactly what you would expect when you form an institution where democracy is removed from the equation. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do- to destroy nation states.

We gave it a few decades= it's a miserable failure that has had it's day.

At this rate, there will be very few countries left who haven't voted 'no'.
