Brexit and the Consequences

When will you lot finally stop crying over the result, you are like the never Trumpers, what will it be next, comparing the sexual antics of invading European hornets to leave voters, questioning the morality of the choice to leave based on the antics we got up to at a party 35 years ago?

It could literally be anything next.......next.......

I understand it must feel like the grief of the loss of a favourite teddy bear, but one day you are all going to have to grow up and face the hard truths of being responsible adults and realise that the 29th March 2019 will be a day of celebration, bigger than a coronation or a royal wedding, salt will only hurt those wounds, it would be good advice to stay away from the internet on that day, maybe suck your thumbs instead.

Lighten up old bean.

It may never happen :)

Meantime, in spite of everything, just be very cautious taking a long-term short in GBP. A real Brexit accommodation is bound to emerge soon and will reverse many chart directions.

Deal's already been done in secret behind our backs. It's being introduced in dribs and drabs - have you noticed Barnier's new found co-operation? I suspect it will be a BRINO and will cause trouble. She can't be trusted.

Absolutely right. She says little hoping to wrong-foot the political opponents in her own party. For decades, the biggest threat to Conservative leaders has been their own party, not the opposition, so if we're being duped, its just collateral. For the UK economy, this Brexit or that Brexit is a non-issue.

You only need to glance at the BBC propaganda headlines in the morning and then in the afternoon on the same day to see how they are trying to manipulate us. It's like good cop/bad cop.

In a sense the media do try to manipulate us but only to mould a story so that it shows adversarial positions and an emotional angle. They get more readers/viewers/surfers this way. Its not a conspiracy, its just business.

I wish the Queen would give her opinion, Royal protocol prevents her of course and she must err on the side of political correctness as prescribed by Parliament. But I bet in secret that she will be delighted to once again become a British Citizen and will somehow be able to bury into history the sad 25 years she has wandered in the wilderness of being a Citizen of the European Union, without a place to call home, how the 1000 years of Monarchial lineage must have weighed heavily for her

Good point Sigs. There's not much room for a constitutional monarchy if the UK became a province of the United States of Europe.

Which I always thought was a major reason why the left were for the EU. They seem very quiet about this now.

The Queen has done her duty well. It must have been galling for her when Heath's lot did the dirty on the Commonwealth and and having to hold her peace ever since. It would seem that the Commonwealth countries are more magnanimous to us now than we deserve. I wonder if the new generation of royals will show her wisdom? And God only knows what Charles will come up with.

Why is it that remainers should stop believing in remain because the leavers won the day? That’s akin to saying that conservatives should decry their own policies, adopt labours and mount no opposition in Parliament if it came about that labour won the election.

Perhaps it’s the gradual emerging of the weakness of the leavers case that makes them so angry at remainers continuing opposition :)

The Remain boat has sailed. It was pushed out to sea when both parties decided to abide by the Leave vote. The opposition should be talking about Re-join. But that would just look stupid.

Yes, doesn’t mean I have to like it though

I've not said that! I am a freedom of expressionist, say what you like and believe what you like as long as it does not incite or cause violence

Not at all, I will uphold your right to express your point of view for the next 25-40 years until the next referendum :D

You've forgotten referendum was only supposed to be advisory.

Referendum doesn't wag Parliament.

Have you read the rule book? :)

Here we are, at the entrance to the rabbit hole or are we stepping onto the rollercoaster, maybe setting sail on unknown seas, whatever, skeletor is in charge.

Chequers proposal is one of the most daft suggestions I have ever heard.

EU members are right. It's absolutely ridiculous that after 2 years such a p1ss poor idea can be put forward by the Cabinet.

I suspect either a Norwegian or Canadian model will be presented. That to me is giving away control and receiving a below par sub-deal to the one we had before. We'll still have to abide by rules and directives but have no say in making them.

What I have difficulty comprehending was that Farage was the gentleman suggesting the Norwegian model???:eek::eek:

Now the same gentleman is suggesting maybe we should have another referendum???:eek::eek:

His either bored or confused?

Another fine mess indeed!

Look, as foretold 2 years ago, we will leave without a deal, we will pay no money to the EU and the EU's collapse will speed up after we leave.

Meanwhile, when our dozy government finally wake up to the reality of a no deal, I expect Trump will make noises to the effect that a glorious future can be carved out for the west. Something that the UK should wholeheartedly embrace. It's time to ditch all this redistributive socialism and power ahead with proper free market economics.

Come on walnut....keep up :)

You keep saying I told you so and how right you were but each and every time it whimpers out like a limp something or other. No potency to your tosh at all.

Weren't the Italian, Austrian, Dutch and the recent Swedish votes supposed to rock the EU to their foundations? What's come of the far right?

Then the implosion or explosion of this EU you talk about??? If Canada could, they would integrate ever closer with the EU.

Why would Japan strike a new trade agreement with the EU? http://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/in-focus/eu-japan-economic-partnership-agreement/

This means each and every 27 EU members now have a superior trade agreement with Japan than the WTO agreements.

So you keep banging your drum about US of A or making trade deals with small nations in the Commonwealth and Africa. Your dreams will come true soon enough.

You just keep repeating your same old whaffle and hot air. Leadsom supposed to be leading the Tory party and where is she? Gove was your elected expert who said Brexit would be simple. Boris enjoying being a dick head, no change there. Where is the back bone of the Brexiteers in Moggy. His gone a bit limp too. Everynow and then appears and makes some grand gestures and speeches full of unsubstantiated assertions about a make believe world and you all get tickled silly about his tripe but in summary nothing. Nada. Zilch. FA!

You keep taking your medication (y)
