Covid19 is a killer, no one is sayng it's not. What we ARE saying is that it's scale is being vastly and unreasonably exaggerated out of all proportion to it's actual significance.
With also merits the question, if Covid19 warrants this massive response, then surely the Government is guilty of a profound negligence of it's core duty of care in previous recent epidemics, which have killed MORE people.

The Office of National Statistics report 22,351 deaths in England and Wales for the week up 17 April. This is DOUBLE the average in previous years. If the doubters believe this is nothing to do with covid19 then they really must be living in cloud cuckoo land.

The graph compares exactly the same date periods in previous years with the current period, nothing more or less.

& whilst as you point out, we do not yet have the full data or death toll for this 'covid' period since the period is still ongoing, all indications from the data we have suggest that death rates the ongoing 'covid' period are not statistically different from those in previous 'flu' periods.

After reading this nightmare story, I had real disbelief it was a school syllabus book. Well written but absolutely horrifying.

NHS workers do what they are told nothing more (unless they are left wing activists, trump haters and anti-Tory of course). If they are told to record deaths then they will, if they are told not to, then they will...not.

If govt wish to manipulate stats to suit the circumstances they will, or they will instruct others to record figures in a way that ends up with stats recorded in the way that they wish to present them. They have armies of drones doing this work for them, eg civil servants
