FTSE 100 intraday trading - JULY 2003

Not the best of starts to the week.
But you never know - Down on Monday , up on Tuesday.-
It used to be the other way round. :(

My RSI is now in oversold territory. So at some stage we
may see a test of 4060 ? or higher.

yes re 45 - play the Jaws music!

On the sidelines (or out and about) all day so not much to offer.

Some strong moves in my 'basket' but on very low volumes. Only barc and dge traded above average volumes in ftse 12 with volumes in azn, gsk very low. The low volumes may explain some of the strange candlesticks - several 'last gasp' engulfs which might mean a bounce, but countered by several down signals although again on low volumes.

Wouldn't like to guess - leave it to the market.

good trading

as per yesterday's discussion

Exchange [Liffe] : Exchange message. , FTSE 100 OPENING CALL PRICE IS SET AT 4040.0 OUTER LIMITS ARE SET AT 50 TICKS

still not 100% sure I should be doing this

For your info, on the future, last nights 17.30 close 4032.5, today's low 4033. good as filled the gap.

needs to move higher now
the RSI likes it ; the macd likes it
but 60 must hold.

sledge
looking at d4f charts, they were quoting 55/59
until 7.45 at which point they instantly dropped to 40/44
in an enormous spike and then carried on back where they were
rising to 60/64 just before the open

your morning call looked like a surprise to them ?

yes, there normally is a big change in the bids/offers on the depth of market as soon as they issue the price

i still haven't traded today. still waiting for the bl**ding obvious.

one clue might have been the high in the future of 4055.5. i am informed the EW BOR is 4006. the market loves to move in 50, 49.5 and 49's (as well as 15, 30 ......!) but the market is a bit oversold, so i'm being cautious

45 area held despite some heavy volume pulling it down towards that level over an hour ago. The Jaws music having faded is just getting louder again!!

Wot's winners & losers looking like?

closed short.
that gain line is beginning to look unbreakable ?

but you never know.
anyway on the sidelines for a while.

another good call - it was an interesting tussle conducted without unusual volume. A big volume spike to take it through ma 20 tho'. Viewing all this academically since I'm on the sidelines!

this move looks too strong to last ?
thinking it might want to have a look at 72 ?
I'll wait and see what happens if we get there.

Taking a certain gentleman at his word, I have put up a link
for anyone interested in Andrews Pitchforks charting.

Take it with a pinch of salt, if you like
or even a dose of salts.

So, it was an up day after all.
and now has some bullish hallmarks.

Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel ?
