FTSE 100 intraday trading - JULY 2003

dont think they are time stamped but usually come through on every change ?
perhaps you shold phone and ask them ?

Gawd, am I having a day or wot!

I was tinkering with my open swing trade positions - my main interest - when good lady popped in (she of the gut instinct) to see how WPP were doing. A couple of weeks ago (at around 470) she wanted me to buy but I "forgot" (well I didn't like the chart did I - it had not long breached a swing low). Now WPP are at 527 and she wants to spend the profit. I should know better by now!!

think of it as a good day.
a lot would have spent it already ?

lol
think how much you have saved !

Bonsai

I'm getting to like the little Yahoo chart and its candlesticks

doji towards 830 signals end of initial rise
2 failed hammers before & after 9 for continuation
2 dojis towards 930 marked end of fall
shooting star before 1200 gave end of rise

(this all in hindsight since I was repairing virus damage!!)

failed hammer 1430ish gave continuation (got a bit of that)
hammer at 1530 for end of fall

not bad eh - they likely won't work tomorrow!!

good trading

Barjon,
there's also possible engulfing bear at 1:30 ?
(I'm bit tentative as I'm fairly new to candlesticks. Halfway through Nison's book at the moment).

A good day for saying
" Dont do as I do, do as I say !" ?

Another good trading day. Ftse can make you a lot of money if you treat her right !

My projections also look pretty good today

High 4137 Actual 4132
Low 4064 Actual 4077

here is the summary.

trust all is well now
but I would be interested why you thought that particular file
might have been a problem.

how did its name suggest itself ?

1. cguesty

sure is, but I'm always a bit wary of engulfs. For me, at least, they don't seem as reliable as shooting stars and hammers. Probably just me - not got any statistical evidence to back it up.

2. Bonsai

all well now - have re-loaded it from back-up (I hope). The file name was in the e-mail message I received from my friend. Almost word for word as that on the link provided by boy earlier on. Wish I had known about that site earlier, it would have saved me and many I contacted a great deal of trouble. And saved me from being somewhat red-faced with embarrassment.

Now the dust has settled on the trading day, I'd be interested in what persuaded you to go long again at 16. Never like to ask (or volunteer) during the business since I know how difficult it can be not to be influenced by what others are up to.

as you probably know, I normally trade the macd as my favourite
signal and that got me in at 08
but we had also made a new low below 4100 which looked really
tasty as 'the end of the correction' especially as it bounced off
one of my fib trend lines (168% from 4012).
so instead of trading the macd, I was trading a new 'rally'
when I added at 16, it had just bounced up from the 1 day.
and I was ready for the 'rally' to commence.

the thing about trading 'rallies' is you have to be prepared
for the market to try to 'shake you out' before moving up.
so I kept my stop in place.(Horse !)

This one was a loser but the next one will yield 40/50 pts.
or more.

PS: You didnt comment on the projections ! I was quite pleased with them

Bonsai

yes! projections more than pretty good - probably forgot about them since I'm not familiar with a "steidlmeyer slide", he's the market profile guy isn't he?

Does volume feature for you at all? If I've got your 16 entry right the bounce was on pretty low volume. I was beginning to look the other way at the time (hence rather oblique posts).

good trading tomorrow

volume is a bit of a problem. Sometimes it doesnt get reported till
later so dont use it.

steidlmeyer is market profile !

4150/4075 today , looks wrong but you never know !

opening gap down to 4065 completes yesterdays projection ?
so maybe we will go up now all day ?
lol

some massive volume coming in over the last 15mins.

8 of ftse 100 showed a clear reversal day bar yesterday with many others giving candlestick reversal signals or already on way down.

cleared out all my long positions this morning

you've been and gone again!

i'm torn between the open golf and ftse which is veree eenteresting this morning. for a moment with that huge volume i thought we might drop off the edge. seem to be holding at around fib50 (4045) so maybe bears have been shaken out. not got the balls to chance a long yet though!

good trading

lol
I have both on my pc.
an eye on each
just trading my macd today so short first and long since the
pick up

could turn out to be interesting
you know who is making a pigs ear of it.

btw, you never said which page you bookmark to get onto t2w ?

Hi Bonsai,

What MACD are you using, I'd like to have a look whilst it's dead.

Cheers
