Country Ken's Tips and racing discussions

Your esteemed venerableness, you miss the point, though your wit has provided most of the pleasure in this thread.
You should provide divine guidance to help CK suffer the burden of consistency exhibited on this thread.
CK has demonstrated his great superiority over the vast majority of racing punters by only losing a little over three months. He is to be applauded for this fine achievement and the "fun" he has given so many readers.
I have read this thread with sheer unadulterated pleasure these last months, smiling at the pure nihilistic expenditure of unrecoverable living time. I suspect you too may be sitting in your cell shaking your head at the human condition that gives rise to such wantonness.
I trust you are supplied with your special egg dish every morning, sir ;-)
CK, you are indeed a man of persistence and application..............and courage. One day, perhaps............., you will make a consistent profit and your efforts may be rewarded.
Would you say you learn by your mistakes or not?
Or is it that the random nature of the "sport" precludes long term financial success since it doesn't provide evidence of error or mismanagement and the only possible height attainable is that of break even?
Would you say that was a manifestation of the high percentage of randomness in any horse race?
Have you ever considered alternative employment or do you do this "professionally"?

I trust you are supplied with your special egg dish every morning, sir ;-)

Ah yes indeed, my beloved Eggs Benedict.

God bless you Mr Charts and may your gaps ( non dental ) be large and profitable.

Very perceptive, 0 Wholly 1.
I really had never thought I was still filling gaps, though now more profitably.
You are wasted in your present job.
You really should look for something where you could make a difference and do some good in the world.
Wow ! Such creative conceptuality on t2w !
BTW, why are you in Wormwood Scrubs?
What crime did you commit?
Perhaps you called out, "Nonsense", somewhere other than t2w.
Perhaps at a race track?
Perhaps at the Labour Party Conference?
So when is your execution?

The race is not to the swift
or the battle to the strong...
....but time and chance happen to them all.

Ecclesiastes 9:10-12

Thus the Bible teaches us that randomness will win over form.

Those who lookest up to the heavens from whence cometh their help, or into the scriptures of the ancients seeth only that which they wish to see, not that which they seek.
Verily, a looking glass into their own anxieties and hopes to survive as an individual tribe member against the enormity and unknowingness of the universe lest their alienation from it crushes them as they walk through the valley of death

This helpeth not with trading.

P.S. Just to inform one and all that there won't be any bets for the
next few days at least as i am down with the flu and i need to
consider if im to carry on with my bets, i hope that you don't
think that im letting you down, i have personal reasons to
consider if im to carry on or not, this is my honest feeling
about what has been said

When i started i did say that my bets are purely on a fun basis
and if a profit is made we can look at it as a bonus.

No, im not running away or letting you down, i just wonder if those
out there do really look foreward to my bets even though im not
winning.

Theres a lot more that can be said, but in all honesty what is there
to be gained by saying it.

This thread was to be only about horse racing, yes of course
there will be times when certain postings are posted with good
intentions, not criticism thats uncalled for.
This thread is becoming something that is running away from
horse racing etc etc etc.

In saying all this, i do hope that i can return to this forum
when my flu is over and after giving it some thought.

There are also personal reasons that i have spoken in
this way.

Once again do not think that im letting you down, as i write
this i ask for understanding, im sure you will show it.

Thanks for reading this

Cheers
Ken

Please come back to us Ken.

You would be sorely missed if you left.

Don't let the criticism and gentle ribbings get you down.

It is a part of all of our lives that we have to withstand.

Be strong.

Certainly , I didn't get where I am today by not being strong.

(I pray that His Holiness will forgive an Unworthy for treading on his robes?)

There is nothing to forgive dear Peto.

My robes are incapable of being trodden on since I have had the hems raised to prevent that very event.

God bless you dear friend.

Let us all pray to Almighty God in Heaven for the speedy recovery of Ken from the dreaded influenza and a safe return to this forum where he might engage on a blessed winning streak.

Amen

To all who have been giving Ken a hard time regarding his tips , and the gentle ribbing

Its just like you, putting every trade that you make on this thread,
would you like to have every trade that you lost money on, out there for every one to criticise?

No you lose money on your own time, at home and know one knows,

ken puts his tips up, win or lose, if you bet on them its up to you

Its just a bit of fun
give the guy a break

Ken its been fun and I have enjoyed it

I should give it up , as you are always going to have someone who will have a go
and I know that you are hurt by the comments

Isn't it the nature of the beast that when you post on an open internet forum you should expect your fair share of detractors, whether you are successful or not ?

If you are highly successful you will attract the jealous detractors - just ask Mr Charts.

If you are unsuccessful you will attract the hecklers and people who just want to have a little bit of a laugh.

Basically you cannot win and you should know that before you even contemplate posting.

Having said that I hope that Ken can develop a slightly thicker skin and come back so he can continue his harmless and entertaining pursuit.

BTW Hornblower, what does "lossed" mean ?

Ken,

Just to let you know that I've only recently started to look at these forums recently ( ie in the last three weeks ) and I have found your tips very helpful.

I regard it as a "bit of fun" and as long as others do likewise I would be really pleased to see you back here posting.

People are clamouring for your return Ken.

You simply must come back.

T2W would not be the same without your horse-trading tips.

I can only ask one and all---------

Good After-noon to All,

Im not a very good letter writer, but i will do my best.

Firstly, about my flu, it is true that im having it.

As for the bets, i would like to carry on, but sadly, there are some that
do critize, what are they gaining by doing so.

This is what i wish to say and ask, if i am to carry on posting my bets
i ask one and all to behave in an orderly manner.

I am not treating you as a child or a young boy, all i ask is, no criticism
on anyone, if and there will be instances where there will be a difference
of opinion or a debate with your fellow colleague, by all means put
foreward your own opinion if you beg to differ, but there is NO NEED FOR
ANY FORM OF CRITICISM, just behave in a proper manner, is that really
hard to do. If you have nothing nice to say, or you don't wish to give your
opinion, then all you do is just stay silent for silence is GOLDEN.
If you wish to ask a question about horse racing, by all means do so,
but do keep it civilized.
No, im not telling you what to do neither am i treating you as a kid, all
im trying to do is keep this thread clean so to speak.
We are all grown ups, why does one have to critize, if you feel that
you can't hold your tongue, then i strongly suggest that you stay away
if you have nothing nice to say.

I might be asking a LOT, but in the name of GOD or KINDNESS,
UNDERSTANDING ETC ETC, do your part and behave in the manner
that is right.

There is a lot more that can be said, but i think i have said enough
so i will end here with the last saying, which is, keep this thread, forum
of T2W as a place where you can come in and feel good about the place.
Nothing is impossible to if you put your effort into it.
I leave you to ponder on it, in the way that grown ups do and do the
right things one would normally do.

I will say this once again, im not telling you what to do in the negative
sense of the word neither am i treating you as a kid who knows nothing,
i mean well in what i have said, but if you feel that im telling you and
treating you as a kid, then all i can say is, its not so, this is my honest
and sincere answer i give you.

I thank you for reading this and i ask for understanding in what i have
wrote.

Thanking you

Yours Sincerely
Ken

P.S. Do pardon me if any errors or saying it the wrong way
im more then sure you know i mean well.

I might be asking a LOT, but in the name of GOD or KINDNESS,
UNDERSTANDING ETC ETC, do your part and behave in the manner
that is right.

Spoken like a true Christian.

I salute you Ken and hope that you receive Divine guidance in the future as regards your horse selections.

Welcome back to the T2W stable.

CK, you prima donna, I know you are not going, FFS ( hope that is ok Lady Sharky) just get on with it.

.

Holy Father, I endeavour always to be a good Catholic, sadly, sometimes I digress.

Most eloquent and perceptive. Papal Benny didn't get where he is today by without saving any number of tribe members from imminent crushing.

Sorry to hear of your affliction and hope you are quickly restored to health.
You mustn't worry about old Mayo, I'm sure his family love him and that he has many redeeming qualities (although once again thats PB's department really!). Mr Charts and PB were gently probing the extent to which chance can play havoc with the accounts of the most skilled of punters, a matter I too would value your opinion on.

They also questioned the motive for punters to be content with a break-even strategy. Clearly they should try standing on the side of a racetrack screaming encouragement with a thousand others at their chosen beast (the perfected product of hundreds of years of breeding and many more hours of training) as it thunders past, shaking the venerated sods of earth below their feet, the smell of sweat and fear and thrill sharp in the air, tentatively tasting the flavour of success as it moves up the pack , and the burst of adrenaline as it emerges at the front, darting for the winning line, whooping and leaping with the exhilaration and euphoria and triumph as it smashes through the line......and later still basking in the glow of satisfaction as we collect the readies from the bookie.

The trouble with trading the financial markets with emotion like this is that one's cash tends to vanish faster than Shergar. Therefore we should all be indebted to you for providing this valued Thread to our Forum, that we might be permitted to indulge in a little emotive trading whilst retaining (at least 99% of) our capital, and indulge in thoughts and discussions and even a little banter or ribbing which remove us briefly from the daily concerns of which way the financial community will push the Dow or whatever next.
