Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

Morning all.

Let me just see if I have this Barjon Dow/Ftse thing right now then.

So currently Ftse is -6.7 on where it opened
Dow -20

ftse is 6.7 * 2 = 13.4

So ftse is weaker by 6.6 points relative to dow. Obviously 6.6 isn't an extreme but lets pretend it is for now. So because the ftse is weaker to the dow by 6.6 you'd buy the ftse and sell the dow

have I got the right end of the stick now.

Sorry if I keep going over and over the same stuff it's just I like to at least pretend to know what I'm doing !

Hi Soloquan

I uploaded a spreadsheet on page 1322.

barjon and SD may want to check it first.

Should then be able to just fill the numbers in at the FTSE and DOW close.

It will then give you the variation on price.

no :)

DOW -20 therefore calculated FTSE should be -10 (20/2) had it followed DOW

Actual FTSE is -6.7 and therefore hasn't dropped as much as it would have done had it kept pace with DOW by 3.3 (10-6.7).

So it's traded +3.3 strong during that period.

Barjon someone on this thread showed me advanced charting feature on IQ charts which allows you to chart the ratio of FTSE100/Dow. pretty neat can go back and check extremes

It would indeed.

I've been trying to read as much as I can over night about spread trading.

I really like it. It negates a lot of the emotions you encounter during a traditional directional trade.

Just need to take my time to FULLY understand it first
