Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

I wondered about that. DJ went to about 15660 based on fut. Maybe he makes it work, but IMO adding to losing positions and 100pt stops are a recipe for disaster.

If the trade works out he'll be back. If not he will pop up under another name.

Who will make the next move after this lull.

Hi all

Been lurking for a few days and want to say hello!

Appreciate all the market views - especially re ftse where i'm long.

Just had my annual bet on the Melbourne Cup too!

Their current price is 15636 / 40 so they think its going to open 20 points higher.

I will correct that myself.

I see IG are saying they think the dow will open 40 points down today and we are 3 hours off open. So anyone who thinks IG are a nice bunch of people who want to give us free money should short at their price.

Hi fairval

Thanks for the post.

It's been a long year.

Mind you with day trading/scalping you don't care too much.

Very true which is why doing the opposite might be better

Its nice that we have 3 new traders all starting today ! Good luck everyone. With todays market action I think luck is the order of the day.

Maybe its me but this seems to be the sort of stuff you get in horoscopes.
From IG's website on the same page.
"Solid European sentiment should help ensure that US markets start the week in the same bullish mindset that they closed out the last. Just after the US open we will see the latest monthly factory orders, followed by Federal Open Market Committee members Jerome Powell and Eric Rosengren speaking at different events across the day.
...
Ahead of the open, we expect the Dow Jones to start 40 points lower at 15,500.

So the Dow will start the week bullish, 40 points down....

I hope their trading platform is easier to understand.

The trading platform is ok, but like you said they do have some crystal ball theory stuff going on

It's funny they changed the clocks in Sydney about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
IG have only started closing the ASX market at the correct time this week.

Even the people who work for IG don't follow there prices.
Because in there after market comments sometimes there low or high is out of whack with the IG price for the high and low.
