Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

sorry, dl, got those figures wrong - can't get to grips with the i-pad figs, lol

right, currently:

ftse 6439 = + 43 x 2 = +86
dow 14545 = -47 x 1 = -47
= net + 39

that square with what you see atm

i called it closed at +12 ...couldn't really decide where to close so opted for the
" just take a profit " strategy ....it's a shame the dow moved up after the close on friday ..

got on a laptop now :)

You should have been seeing the following today in terms of your net cash p/l at £2 ftse and £1 dow if you peeped at it each hour:

open......................... £-7
at 09:00..................... £+4
at 10:00 .................... £+10
at 11:00..................... £+36
at noon..................... £+36
at 13:00......................£+26

You mentioned when do you exit. Either to a target £ figure or when you see significant indication of change in strength/weakness. In this case the first sign that strength was dropping off was that profit didn't change between 11 and noon so ftse traded in balance with dow during that time. It then started to go weak between noon and 13:00 so you'd probably call it a day sometime in that period, particularly as the pattern lately has been morning strength, afternoon weakness (if memory serves which is always doubtful,.

that's cool bj.. you use the profit to see the balance in the markets:smart:

i'll try this again it seemed quite a calm way to trade but no doubt you get the horror days as well ....

Would like to short more if there is a bounce.

From the interweb...

Italian and Spanish stocks dropped sharply and other European indexes trimmed gains in afternoon action on Monday, after Jeroen Dijsselbloem, chairman of the Eurogroup of euro-zone finance ministers, said the Cyprus rescue program serves as a new template for solving banking problems, according to Reuters. As part of the bailout package for Cyprus, depositors with savings above 100,000 euros ($151,940) will be hit by an unprecedented deposit tax. Shares of Intesa Sanpaolo SpA /quotes/zigman/172768 IT:ISP -5.72% dropped 5.7% and UniCredit SpA /quotes/zigman/7909864 IT:UCG -5.30% lost 5.3% in Milan. The FTSE MIB index /quotes/zigman/1482176 XX:FTSEMIB -2.37% slumped 2.4% to 15,663.71. Spain's IBEX 35 index /quotes/zigman/2759620 XX:IBEX -1.95% dropped 1.9% to 8,168.90, with shares of Banco Santander SA /quotes/zigman/205160 ES:SAN -2.48% /quotes/zigman/188106/quotes/nls/san SAN -4.57% down 2.6% and BBVA SA /quotes/zigman/226886 ES:BBVA -3.19% /quotes/zigman/254684/quotes/nls/bbva BBVA -5.36% 3.2% lower. The Stoxx Europe 600 index /quotes/zigman/2380150 XX:SXXP -0.02% was flat around 294.03.

ftse is still doing her balancing act at 6390....all the other indices are in the same position now kinda weird ....mr tumble has his work cut out today:)

still got the quarter end shenanigans tho

Equities trying to make a small recovery, not convinced though, selling some Dow here now. 14489's see if we can get back to the magic 14400 level we do have a nice rising trend line around there though.

I'm also short on Dow, which seems unreasonably high compared to global indices.

Look out for durables and confidence reports later today 12:30pm and 2pm.

Agree SD SPY is showing a good bid , looking for this to reverse later on.

Not sure Econ data going to be the driver of these mkts in QTR end it will be more rumour driven this afternoon as it was yesterday
