Ukraine invasion

At this rate the war will be won by Christmas.

It is a smart strategy, hit the most valuable (mobile) target before the enemy knows you have long range missiles, before he could move stuff out of reach.

This article is almost two months old and is either out of date or proven to be total bunkum. Regurgitating the same ol' narrative of 'Zelensky and Ukraine good : Putin and Russia bad' doesn't change the facts on the ground. If those of you on the wrong side of the argument are to make any headway in convincing those of us on the right side that Ukraine can defeat Russia - then there's one very simple way to do it. Namely, to produce the military maps that clearly show that Russian held territory is in decline and Ukrainain forces are succeeding in pushing back the ruskies to the eastern border. Needless to say, you can't do that because the brutal facts of what's actually happening are completely at odds with the fairy tale 'pigs can fly' narrative that you'd like us all to believe.

It's really quite extraordinary - bizarre, even!
😲

Absolutely Tim, and there is news Russian oil is now flowing back to Europe via Ukraine as well as grain shipments to other places.

Ukraine halted the pipelines but is now more amiable to opening them.

I wonder who gave the nod to Zelensky?

Yes indeed At',
The narrative is changing, albeit slowly. The war rhetoric is dying down and the attention of governments and the media are shifting elsewhere. Even if Liz Truss wants to throw more money and weapons at Ukraine, the public have lost interest; they've already moved on to the next big thing. In the U.K. focus (in case anyone hadn't noticed, lol!) is now almost completely on the cost of living crisis, the inflation crisis and the fuel price 'lift' crisis. Liz (or Rishi) can't be seen to spaff £billions on a conflict that poses zero threat to our national security, while at the same time telling Joe Public that they'll have to starve and freeze this coming winter.

The one point of note in the article that c_v linked to is this one:
". . . To succeed [i.e. defeat the Russians], however, the United States and its European allies must swiftly supply our country with appropriate numbers of advanced heavy weapons. They must also maintain and increase sanctions against Russia. And, critically, they need to ignore calls for diplomatic settlements that would help Putin before he makes serious concessions. . ."

It's now clear as day that the sanctions are hurting us waaaaaaaay more than they're hurting even ordinary Russians in the street - let alone Putin and the Kremlin. The U.S. have supplied 16 - 20 Himars - but that looks like being the limit. No mention of how many more rockets they'll provide. That's probably because they can't make them fast enough for the Ukrainians to sell them on the black market. Besides which, they might need to send them to the Taiwanese instead. Pelosi's trip last week was a clear signal that the Biden administration wants to distance itself from the Zelensky regime while it's still able to control the narrative. As for the calls for diplomatic settlements - they will only become louder and more frequent when they can no longer ignore the fact that the areas coloured red on the military maps of Ukraine are steadily getting bigger. And bigger. And bigger . . .
Tim.

Tim.

Agreed Tim very much so you are 100% on the nail.

Then on the MSM we have Zelensky calling for Crimea to be returned back to Ukraine before this war is over.

I mean the contrast between what is reality and what is reported, literally is exponential hyperbulla, to put it mildly.

Funny how Zelensky has got Putins cannon fodder running around repositioning wherever the latest counter offensives occur.

Russia has got zero chance of conquering Ukraine. We have seen the Ukrainian mentality and they are not about to roll over. So at some point, Putin will pack up and fk off leaving Russia as the pariah state. Economic backwater. Some victory that will be.
