Trend Spotter

Phoenix Forex

Just a word of warning about these people. On the website it says 30 day money back guarantee but when you try to get your money refunded it comes with all kinds of conditions such as details of all transactions(which I couldn't provide because MT4 crashed and when I re-registered obviously all trading history was gone)also screen shots of your drive time stamped.Although I returned all material and my user name was removed from Paltalk they refuse to give me a refund.

Ok so I have had £305 stolen from me,you live and learn.I hope nobody else falls for this scam.

johnk49,

are you the only one who has asked for his money back ?
we need to establish whether failure to refund is a one-off with you, or a general attitude for all refundees.

also, how long did you try TS for, before deciding it wasnt for you ?
( it appears TS requires some discretion, and others are finding the learning-curve slow-going, but are sticking with it )

If you were banned from Paltalk, were you aware of others being banned before you ?
( might hint at possible others who were unhappy and got ditched )
how many people logged into paltalk on a regular basis before you got banned ?
( could indicate level of people still sticking with it, rather than quietly binning TS and moving on )

I know this doesnt help with your specific case, but am curious about the whole TS phenomena.

general trading standards rules must apply. please read the small print, as to whether there are caveats to refunds. otherwise, have a chat with your local trading standards people for advice.
rules that businesses impose with regards to refunds are "generally" unlawful, if those rules impinge your consumer rights.

for example; if the caveats were made to you AFTER sales, ( ie; with the shipped CDs ), then you could not have reasonably known the caveats before making your decision to purchase.
( had you known about the refund-rules BEFOREHAND, you could claim you would not have made the purchase )

dont give up! you are one system closer to something that will work !!

Trendie as far as I can see there are no caveats on the website nor any after sales.I dont know how many people have asked for refunds.I found the system far too discretionary for me especially since they state that this system can be automated,it's actually impossible to tell what the actual"system"is!At the end of the day it does not matter what my opinion of the system is,I should be entitled to a refund as it states on the website. Thanks anyway trendie and I shall be having a word with the trading standards people.

good luck johnk - i thought it odd when looking at TS that you could potentially obtain the system gratis, so a quick email to them via their site confirmed the trade log caveats etc.

interesting post, Chow.

from johnks perspective, he took at face value the "30-day money back guarantee".
you shouldnt have to specifically ask the refund-rules. they should be clearly stated.
that would be like buying a new car, and not being told, "unless you specifically asked", that it ran on gold-dust. :) :)

aye, i take your point trendie. I should have been more explicit in the post - question everything when buying from a vendor. :)

chow,

are you a TS-purchaser ?
if not, did the refund-rules put you off ?
if yes (purchaser), are you trading it / find anything you could use / learn anything ?

No i'm not m8, i was intrigued by the level of interest here and it got me tinkering with MetaTrader, WoodiesCCI, ASCTrend/SilverTrend and the MT yahoo group ;)

Trendie let me give you my observations on this"system",first of all this man Sid wasn't in the room for nearly a week so everyone was sat about not knowing what to do!When he eventually did turn up he just kept going on how bad the markets were and hardly any trades were taken despite the fact there were indicator arrows all over the place. Then they decided to change one of the filters for the arrows, which as it turns out, wasn't any better. Then he decided to allocate a currency pair to certain members of the room(can you imagine they have paid for the system and they are making the calls)this was hilarious,at one point people were long EUR and CHF when it's a known fact these travel in opposite directions! Finally I'd had enough and asked for a refund,I was asked for my user name so that I could be taken off the chat room and I was asked to return my purchase which I did,I thought that was the end of the matter until a week later I checked my account and found I had not been refunded. After numerous emails(to which I got no reply)I finally got an email from Sid more or less saying you are f****d.

sorry to hear it john.. just goes to show that you are far better off investing the time and effort into designing it yourself.

good luck in the future though :)

ps. am quite amused by the EUR and CHF anecdote lol :)

as with all things, keep calm and detached. dont let it get personal.

make sure you keep a time-line of emails, notes, dates.
ensure you snapshot the webpage showing the 30-day guarantee.
note the date you sent-for / received TS.
( I hope that when you sent it back, you got a "Certificate of Posting" or sent it Recorded Delivery ), to show you sent it back within the 30-days.

When you were asked for the return of the software, did they ask for trade-log then ?
Or did this happen AFTER they had received TS back ?

Either way, I think you are ok with your consumer rights, an are entitled to a refund.
As suggested earlier, get the trading standards people involved.

Any future emails to TS should be prefixed by "I have been advised by my local Trading Standards office ......".

remain detached and unemotional.

this is just another trade that went wrong. your stop-loss was £305.
thats all. nothing more.

let us know how it goes.

Trendie,no they never asked for a trade-log when they asked for the software to be returned.

It's not just about the money Trendie,I'm sure you know that,It's what we all feel when we have been conned.

Thanks for your concerns anyway.

This thread should be left on permanent display on T2W as a testament to the pitfalls of those who think there is get rich quick route in trading.
There is only one way to do that and it requires a lot of ignorance combined with a lot of luck with no better odds than the casino.

I purchased the system some four weeks ago and have attended the "chat room" for much of the time since.

Within five minutes of installing the system I took the first signal it offered me with just a £2 bet as a test. That paid for the £300 cost of Phoenix Forex. I don't suppose that I can complain at that.

I have found Sid's guidance very helpful though his absences for personal reasons have from time to time been frustrating. However, these things happen to us all and I feel that we should be understanding. After all, despite the fact that I made the cost back in a few minutes I am thinking long term here.

Clearly, many people in the chat room, including me, have benefited from the advice they have received. There have been a few, and there always are a few, who have been unable or unwilling to understand what it is all about. They seemed to think that for £300 they had purchased the dream answer to all their forex ambitions. No such thing exists. Phoenix Forex offers signals and indicators which are very helpful in deciding whether to take a trade and when to close, together with advice and commentary in the chat room.

My observation is that those who were dissatisfied would have moaned even if the profits had been handed to them on a plate all tied up with pink ribbon.

But, there we are, each to his own. Nevertheless, the personal attacks made on here are quite out of order when all these people would have had to do in order to succeed would have been to listen to what was being said to them and to give the system a fair chance to do it's work.

You miss the whole point of this, this could be the holy grail of trading with fantastic results but I reserve the right to ask for a refund regardless.

First off. Get your figures right lads. 400 dollars is approx 230 odd pounds. Is that the price of Trend Spotter? Argue amongst yourselves over that. Just shows people only read what they want to read.

To the German bloke: Everything about the rooms has been explained in previous posts. It's not that hard to understand.

Blue wave. No m8 it is nothing like that indicator.

W W. your wrong. There is an indicator that keeps you out of bad trades. I have been using it for the past 2 weeks. Just because you don't have it. Don't worry.

Johnk: Can't comment on your refund. Don't know anything about it. I have however seen the euro and the chf trading in the same direction. You haven't? Then it's best if you do stay out of trading. It's not for you. There have been a few people calling trades in the room the other week. Mainly this has been to get them used to the system. Guess what? It works. There are around 50 people in the room around the clock, bearing in mind there are people from all around the world trading different times of the day. This is about right.

It has never being promoted as a get rich quick scheme as far as I am aware. You will have losses as has been stated previously.

Also you will never please everyone all the time. If you took 100 people and gave each one a hundred pound a week every week. You would still get people moaning and not happy. Human nature I'm afraid.

Bottom line and really all I care about is, have I made money trading this?

Yes.

I was recounting my experience and observation, which rather is the point, isn't it.

First of all TS costs £305,your trading fx and you can't work that out?Second, the eur and chf trade in opposite directions 95+% of the time, only a fool would go long at the same time, you obviously qualify, thirdly whatever my opinion about this system I am entitled to a refund.
