I think Forex is a real business and we can not succeed in if we have no skills and knowledge about it. If we try to make good results then skill is necessary. You should follow the rules of Forex to be succeed.

Luck has FA to do with it!

Wish some people would get dose of reality.

If you think it's coz your lucky, play the bleeding lottery.

Chaps, this is a waste of time.

I was just looking for a copy of my broker's application form for a trading account. I'm sure it had a question to respond to -

"Do you as a prospective client of [the company] wish to be lucky in trading?
Please answer from ONE of the following options -
a) Yes
b) No
c) I am an idiot so it does not matter

(Failure to respond may result in something or other or even another thing.)

My advice is just always respond a) and all your worries will be over.

LOL Some people wish they could walk on Mars.

I'm sure if they wish they were lucky - like really really close their eyes and wish they could reach Mars, I'd bet my pension they will reach their graves sooner than they reach Mars.

Without work and effort and sound knowledge luck is simply; lazy man's vocabulary for probabilities he does not understand and thus should not be risking hard earned cash trading.

I suppose I should consider my self lucky there are many more lucky people than just I then. :D :D

I have been discussing with my fellow traders on whether Forex trading done by individuals like us is like playing chess (skill) vs. playing slots (luck).

What is your take on this? Where would you put Forex trading a scale from 1 (slots) to 10 (chess)? Why?

7. You never know

My contact with Mr Bart helped a great deal in setting my life on the path i had always wanted. Got my second chance when he helped me recover my money from a broker i should never have trusted. You can reach him at [email protected] if you need assistance with any broker

Don't depend on luck.

If you are someone who does depend on luck in trading, please go ahead and define luck in trading so we will all at least be on the same page.......

If you combine skill and luck, the result will be much better.

Seen it all now. Someone who has control over luck.

Is combining skill and luck like mixing paint? Duhhhh

Can you give us an example on how you add luck into your trading skills please? Thanks.

Wear a rabbits foot of course.... duh :)

It's the only sure fire way to find the Pot O' Gold!

Compilation of comments thus far on lady luck, off this thread.

As for me luck always played a big role.
Luck favours some people more than others.
Luck has some influence on trading.
If you combine skill and luck, the result will be much better.
Luck is a variable thing not to be relied on.
Trading is 50% skill and 50% luck.
Trading is 70% skill and 30% luck.
Trading is 90% skill and 10% luck.
Trading is 100% skill and 0% luck.
It is possible to earn trading knowledge and skills with luck.
If you are skilful then luck will follow you. You can see this if you watch a skilled trader trading.
Skills comes before luck.
Luck depends on ones skills. Luck favours skill and hardwork.
You need to have skill to put you in lucks path.
Luck doesn't favour those who don't work for it using their skills.
It could be both luck and skill. You could never know if it was your luck or your skill that made it happen.
Luck has a short shelf life and soon runs out.
Luck will never last long enough to conquer skill.
Luck is not going to be on your side always.
It could be either luck or skill but skill will give you a better result.
The more I rely on luck the less I seem to have it.
It's all to do with luck. Thank fcuk for luck.
Skill inevitably creates luck.
I rather be lucky than good.
The more I practice luckier I get.

How fascinating - the mind set of traders.

I think both have equal role to play. But I have seen many traders without much skills, cursing luck for their losses. That's wrong!

I have to disagree with this.
Luck is not real...
Where as skill is.

Luck is just something we use to describe certain outcomes, or psychological states.
The player who left his lucky socks at home, and therefore has a bad game, isn't unlucky... or isn't without luck.
They simply no longer have a psychological buffer that makes them play better.

The sock itself doesn't have any special attributes.
It's the player perception of it.
That "luck" can be transferred to any item, or ritual - provided that person believes in it

When "lucky/unlucky" things happen to people... it's just variance.
Everything has a probability of happening.
And sometimes unlikely things happen :)

Hi Henry,

Can you tell us your height, weight and BMI index and I'll tell you how lucky or unlucky you might be?

For me, the financial market is no secret. If you live long, you become an elder. It means experience is the best.
