From professional poker player to professional trader?

You can watch me trade for a day once I move to trading at home rather than being in an office if you then tutor me in poker for the evening

Set up a private game and we can all assess each other:LOL: but be careful...cos I will have your pants down.

squizzel, I've been reading this thread with interest as I'm in pretty much the same position as you. I'm a professional gambler (24), however sports markets and casinos is what I specialise in. Sports markets seem to be in the same position as you regard poker at the moment, the edge is getting smaller by the day and it's much harder to make what you could in the glory days of 2006 - same goes for casinos. I've found myself having to use much more high variance strategies to make the same kind of margins as much less volatile ones could return a couple of years back. So looking to make the transition into the financial markets too; I'm looking down the prop route at the moment, but trying to work out if the numbers stack up - arabian maybe you could offer some insight into this? I get the impression most of the shops that are trading STIRs are just looking to churn as people through the door to collect commissions and desk fees, with a few reputable firms out there too that offer some solid training - What would you recommend?

How are you a professional casino gambler and how is your edge getting smaller in casinos?

Basically the way you characterise it is right; you need to teach yourself. If you've got the money I wouldn't bother with any training, I'd just put the money down, negoitate a decent deal and try to learn from osmosis...

Have you never heard of blackjack?

There's loads of forms of advantage gambling and I don't see why he needs to tell you anything.

Yes, i've heard of blackjack and it's a game with a house edge. Maybe he can do card counting or ace tracking but those only skew the %'s a small amount and you can't do them indefinitely. Besides, no-one asked you so STFU.

Thanks, that's pretty much the conclusion I was starting to come to. From a couple of your past posts I remember reading, I recall you dabble in sports too?

Actually BA hons. Don't know why it took you so long to say you're a bonus whore. Talking about going to casinos and having an edge which got smaller
