You won't believe me when I say I am long from 12610, but it's true.

I posted it in the live forum at 4.15 PM :

I believe you (thousands wouldn't :)) just kidding.

I actually began scailing into longs earlier this morning and am now covering (one small position still remaining) as can be seen from this chart (i love how the software tracks your trades with little triangles :))

I think we got about 80 DOW points more to possibly go on the upside, and then there should be good shorting opportunities.

Gonna be posting less over the next few weeks (possibly longer depending on other projects that are now in the pipeline) but this thread has got good again.

keep up the good work

Spx now up 10% from its lows...... then bangs into 38% retrace...mmmh!

Hook Shot mulling swing trade - sell and hold..... just tip-toeing for now...

looking for a "time retracement" on or around 12640...
ideally sideways for a while, and then up again to test the highs

staying flat for the time being though, just saying out loud what would be nice :)

I'm confused

You say time retracement then quote a price and no time

However have you notice we seem to be turning virtually on the hour at the moment - apologies if this has been going on for a while - I've only just noticed it..
9pm, 3pm, 4pm... and sort of worked yesterday ... a bit

Time retracement? is that price swings dependent on the hour of the day??

sorry if I wasn't clear on the matter
when I denote price retracement, I'm usually refering to what happens after a breakout, i.e. price usually returns to find support at the level that was previously resistance

what I meant with a "time retracement" is that sometimes price will go sideways for a while, or drifting up & down a bit in a small range for some period of time without any significant change in price; I have no timetables for those and I certainly didn't mean to imply that there are specific points in time where these things occur. You'd have to ask Gann specialist about that :) What I do know is that it's fairly reliable to say that the longer the pattern, the more sustained the move that follows... but there's no such pattern right now but if it would happen to come up in the next couple of days, I'll post a chart to explain what I mean.

as for turning on the hour... nice observation Paul, didn't notice it myself

just for fun...

two scenario's for today
I'm sure to be shot to pieces, because this will no doubt not even come close to the real action  So warning: don't pay any attention to this!

Hook Shot (aka Paul)

looked high probability to me....

ah, what was your signal?

The ideal short was ofcourse the failure to make a higher high after the trendline broke... That way you could've entered around 12680. But I hesitated. Guilty.

Which I why I considered going short a bit later lesser chance, and also less potential, given support is around 12610.

break of 16.25 lows followed by retest from underside at 17.59 cash charts assuming they are the same.

mixed signals here though.
