still holding...

anybody long too?

Just shorted DOW at 13044.

Expecting some profit taking to kick in.

Thought it might touch 13050 today.

Bit speculaative but got to try it out as planned.

Talk about talking up the market.

On Bloomberg they are asking isn't drop in house prices a good thing for buyers as property is cheaper to buy?

1. No not if you think prices are going to drop &
2. No not if you haven't got money to buy it...

So what do you do? Postpone buying houses until prices drop further and I have money in my pocket...

Rudimentary my dear Watson eh hemm...

Well this looks like bad timing.

Gave up my pips and now losing some. DOW has gone ballistic. Still holding on.

I'm thinking 13110 will have to be my ultimate SL.

Good call FW.

FWIW ...it looks like collective madness.

Housing figs yest & today *bad*, oil nr recent highs (inflationary), Dow earnings good (but that's for last quarter...not the next 3!), dollar weak (inflationary), beige book shows sluggish economy...& on it goes.

13,000 was always a big number & the market been poised threateningly for days ready to take it out...i'm surprised at the strength in which it has (& what brought it on!), but hey once the froth has blown off (tomorrow/fri), I can see the Dow being below 13K again.

The Dow has just completed it's 3 year ABC structure,as well as it's 1.618 retrace from March lows at 13095.The corresponding number for SPX is 1498......this should be a top of sorts !!!

Well done sir !

Today's boring move has been forgotten about - wahey! :cheesy:

Firewalker, Ziff, excellent trading, well done. I only had time to trade the early session, looking at my charts now, entering the market about 1.50pm to now there is no reason to exit the trade until now

Negative Divergence & MACD crossover at 8.45, Trix looking to confirm, if my 8 day ema crosses down my 21 day ema, that will be my shorting signal on the 1 min chart, will look for confirmation on 5, 10, 15 min charts.

Well done to all who got it right

Have a look at this Dow chart, looks like 13100 takes it back to broken support from the nasty break last time.

Now of course this doesn't mean it can't crawl along up it or even gap over it but it does seem like a line in the sand?

17 out of 19 days have been up, thats seems irrational exuberance to me.

*Warning I've just gone short of June Dow at 13,140 so may be guilty of 'talking my position'

Sorry, here it is.

I think maybe linking over head resistance for the rally might come in at the same level too.

MMs have gobbled up all the stops on Nas, Dow and S'n'P that have been put in since the Feb drop, released all the dumb money, now it's time for some down side, no more money up there.

Good trading all.

Quite right, A maximum pain day if ever I saw one....all known Dow intra-day levels were manipulated....a joy to behold ......after the 9 pm close....more pain.... :cheesy:

Uncle Oscar reckons UP target 1514 on the S&P - thats 150ish Dow points.
In Houston's terms its "all systems go"
Maybe next Thurs for the 15% crash ? or the one after ,,,,,,,,,,,,,

DAX looks as if it's distributing... so could lead to more downside
but a 15% crash looks very unlikely imho... especially after a complete trend day on DOW a downtrend day has a lower probability, I would expect some sideways range or first retracement before continuining higher

Dow fut up 40 points
Looks strong before lift-off imho
must move my trailing stops up again
