Here's what we know about socialism, which, like for most of us in Northern Europe is the fairer distribution of wealth. Yes there is an element of capitalism.
North Korea is not socialist it's a dictatorship, but Americans are told that is socialism.
Regarding wealth creation, yes Musk has been amazing, Bezos too for persevering with what looked like a joke for 20 years. However they employ sweat shop tactics. Most wealth globally is inherited having been purloined from other people. The native Americans were treated appallingly. Slavery built the US, and to a degreee the British Empire, though the industrial revolution was a key driver giving the UK the edge. Americans are fed a pack of lies, Fox News etc -and like in 2008 those of us who trade the markets and have trusted news sources knew 100% that the sub prime crash had to happen.Thanks, I made £££. Who went to jail? Just one person. Iceland locked up a fair few banksters and recovered from the shambles. The US is of course owned by an elite and putting Trump in prison where he and his crime family belong has to be handled very very delicately. For the avoidance of doubt Trump's business is reliant on Russina mob money, brokered by Deutsche bank, who are as bent as you like. Can you imaginehow corrupt Republicans are? Owned by NRA, big oil, big pharma. It's not an opinion, it's fact. Verifiable from actual US government records. US politics is a cesspit and the only way out of this is to educate the populus, and ban such evils as Fox News and the TV scamvangelists. We know they fund GOP too, keeping the gullbile in their place,denying first world levels of welfare, health care and housing, to keep a compliant uneducated work force. Again- read or watch the Comey Rule to get an understanding of the disgusting behaviour of Trump and the GOP criminals-and rememebr even when they were in power, many went to jail. The world cannot afford another shitshow so a few elites can sail their super yachts on their champagne lakes. Hillary won in 2016 but Putin engineered a very smart coup, thanks to the electoral college. Dems got it wrong andcan be accused of being remote and patronising. But when we see Trumpers being interviewed, the level of stupidity is staggering. Sorry but the US flourishes under Dems,and old Joe has done pretty well so far,when you know what a shitshow Trump created. And when I said nobody laghed at Clinton and Obama, of course Americans did-Fox News told them to. Globally they are still well respected for their intellect and for steering the GOP owned house of evil through the shitshows created by GOP.
Nothing good gets done when Republicans hold sway- just be thankful you're not a diabetic in the US.

China is not socialist -most of Northern Europe is. Semantics however. The US is terrified by the message of the elite who via MSM convince the weak minded that 'socialism' is bad, without any kind of rationality. I've heard the argument before that this state or that state or this other state was not truly socialist, so they can't be used as examples of poor outcomes from socialism.

Just to say, I think you should push hard with your line that China is not a socialist country. My word is obviously not going to count here but you should definitely talk to as many people as possible and benefit from their responses. Please post them here. if you can talk to some Chinese people so much the better. If you can get something official from the Chinese Communist Party perhaps via your Chinese Embassy so much the better.

But be careful, I have an idea that the CCP and staff of the Chinese state are going to be pretty annoyed when you accuse them of not being socialists.

ie a dictatorship. Quite why Americans foam at the mouth about 'socialism' is hilarious. Scandinavia enjoys a great quality of life. The US has 40 million people with mental health issues and 10 million opioid addicted people, factor in those with an IQ below 100 and it is a concern that the US is even 'democratic' -it's actually a right wing democracy, that narrowly avoided a meltdown.
