i like to look at divergence but usually only with indicators....never thought to use a big heavyweight stock but rio seem to work well

when rio broken down on 3rd may, it gave a huge bearish signal for ftse, which fell about 550pts, and dax dropped about 1200pts

its similiar to how "dow theory" uses the transport sector as leading/confirming indicator for a bull move.

yes divergence there as well ...rio has been diverging since around the10th so has given early warning......

i will watch this chap mention commodities
