Definitely thankful for the technology we do have today to capture the sun's rays & harness the power created from the wind blowing.
Technology will only improve & it's nice to see companies like DTE invest in the renewable energy field. It's not only good for the planet it's a very smart business decision to get in early. The transfer of wealth will be enormous. Companies who start in early will be that much ahead of the game when we all do convert just like switching to HD from SD tv.
You could also I suppose look at the progression of the cell phone. We used to have pay phones all over the place before cell phones became popular. People even had pagers to keep in touch without a cell phone. Now it's hard to imagine life without a cell.
I imagine renewable energy will catch on & gain popularity once the price for electric vehicles, solar panels, wind turbines & the batteries come down. Technology will only improve while the price comes down just like in our high definition televisions.
Cool time to be investing in renewables. Electric vehicles are another extremely exciting transition into our world. In China I do believe over 50% of new vehicles purchased annually are electric. It's not only really good for the planet, it's a really smart investment. Electric cars have less moving parts & break down less frequently. They are built to last & perfect for your average driver. 350 miles on a single charge! Technology will only improve as well.
Another way to look at the electric motor propulsion is through golf carts. I'm not sure the exact number, but I'd say over half our golf carts are electric & work great. It's just something you get used to plugging it in when you park. Then its good to go the next time you go to use it. Electric vehicles are great & a smart investment into our future. Good for both the planet, your purse & wallet, also we can prevent future conflicts in middle east over foreign oil. Win + win for everyone.
