Firewalker stepping down

First of all, thanks to all those who have contributed and helped me on this forum in the past. It's always a sad day to say goodbye but, unfortunately, certain "events" have presented themselves that give me no other choice than to stop contributing in the public threads.

Therefore I am resigning as an advisor and will stop posting anything in the public threads.

I sincerely believe that every post I made, and every suggestion I made, has always been in the interest of the greater good of trade2win, but unfortunately the latest course of events lead to me to conclude that I can no longer function as an advisor.

The top of the iceberg was this post by barjon http://www.trade2win.com/boards/432123-post2210.html, but I already had doubts before that. It's about a whole number things, and it's basically about the way this site is managed and how trolls are handled. I'm also disappointed in the fact that a lot of good contributors left or stopped posting and are just lurking.

I felt this for some time now, and with more good old contributors leaving, and a fine moderator like nine stepping down, it became clear to me that the direction this site is taking, is not one I want to take part it.

My latest effort in trying to provide some "content" by starting a new thread were immediately derailed (6 times actually). The reaction I got was that the thread had "a broad canvas". It's become clear that the number of people who want to discuss trading on this forum are in the minority.

It would seem that Mr. Marcus & co were right when they posted "it is a waste of time and effort of sharing truly advanced knowledge in a bulletin board". I suggest the site administrators name their site "talk2win" instead of "trade2win".

Good trading and thanks to everyone who has supported me in the past.

I'm sorry FW, the spat with mp is not worth the trouble or waste of space.

It takes two to tango.

You may not realise it but you, too, have changed. Look at the quality of your posts at the beginning. I have been, frankly, puzzled at the arguments that you have been having with mp---and I'm not taking sides---. There was a time when you would not have bothered to enter into such trivialities.

Anyway, the decision is yours. All the best.

All the best FW. Congrats for becoming the all-time T2W top poster, overtaking chartman today, and for currently being the all-time T2W-pip monster.
:)

Hi firewalker
sorry to see you go
I agree with your reasons
I just wish I knew where the real traders have gone
and I would join them

kind regards

Hi FW,

Sorry to see you are departing. I do agree, there are a lot of people on here who talk the talk but when you dig deeper you have serious reservations about their ability to walk the walk.

My eyes were seriously opened when I got in with some traders from Ensign Charting (dacharts). These guys are full time extremely profitable futures traders. Based in the USA these guys (ex CME, CBOT and NYMEX) are a different grade to the experts on here. No BS, No coulda, shoulda woulda. Just plain and simple trade, live call profit, with a great mix of idea sharing. The way they make their profit and handle themselves is a marked contrast to the way some of the "professional" traders aquit themselves on this forum.

I would go as far as to say if you want to trade seriously don't bother with T2W. It's good for a bit of fun when you have some down time. But I can think of maybe 10 people from the 91,000 odd members that I would listen too.

Hence, I am not posting so much. I am on here from time to time for amusements sake. I never believed that I would ever agree with Kevin21 BUT...he was right when he left this forum because he had moved on to pastures greener. If you are a newbie looking for ideas, or a pro wanting to develop ideas there are better arenas to do it in than T2W. Furthermore another trader I know who is now profitable, a friend of Dante's and was a regular contributor to these forums left because from my understanding felt that a lot of people on here talked crap.

FW,

I, still, think that you were wrong to step down. You could have put the offending poster on ignore, as I did on a couple of occasions and, if you felt that your thread was being interrupted, you could have got the posts deleted.

If you change your mind, no one will think twice of the matter and your posts will be valued. Many of us have not bothered to read that thread once we discovered that a spat was going on. How boring!

Here's hoping that you change your mind.

firewalker,

Like others have said I am also disappointed to see you are leaving but fully understand your decision to do so. I think that your contributions have been as good as any on these boards and I am sure many people have gained great insights into profitable trading. You could always start a private forum and avoid any disruption by doing so and if you do please let me know. Either way I wish you well for the future.

Firewalker,

Shame to see you go and thanks for all your stuff - but life goes on!

I've long thought that you have to positively select what you want/need from any forum and if you can make any worthwhile contribution so much the better (but what constitutes "worthwhile" is obviously open to debate). If the forum was to be only for serious, successful, expert and professional / quasi-professional traders it would probably be quite empty and not a commercial success - presumably without ad revenues the site would fold. So like all things in life you have to be pragmatic. I just wish i could buy a newspaper with no sport, only decent well-written articles and entirely in tune with my politics - but there you are.

I suspect that T2W is now approaching mid-life maturity and like all civilisations it will eventually fade away. Enjoy it while you can - the Phoenix will always re-emerge.

All the very best FW

Thanks for all your help

Would not have got this far without the help offered by the usual list of suspects :)

Appreciated by me anyway

Thanks

Health, Wealth and be Happy FW

and all the very best

Andy

Did you mean dbPhoenix :)

Paul

Wasn't actually thinking that at the time but it's a nice thought isn't it?

Thought: shame for the % of newbies who can digest instruction but will no longer benefit from the future expertise of those leaving. :)

Its been fun firewalker ... c u again in cyberspace I'm sure.

Enjoy and do well.
