I am on it these days. Once i finish it, will share my review.I have heard a lot about this book “How to make a Living Trading Foreign Exchange: A Guaranteed Income for Life.” Is it really worth reading?
I have read the latter one. Thats a really good read.Day Trading and Swing Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien is a good one. It covers complex macro concepts in FA and TA in a very readable fashion without loss of continuity!
Yes. This book is quite interesting. It gives a piece of advice on how to maximize profits during high volatility. Also, he has talked about his unique Rejection Rule that doubles the profit of basic channel breakout systems. You need to read it.Hey, have you finished reading this? Please share your review, just want to know!
That's a hell of a claim? Does she actually show you a testable method that will accomplish this? How to Make a Living Trading Foreign Exchange: A Guaranteed Income for Life by Courtney Smith.
Trading In The Zone by Mark DouglasEven though I have a decent size library of investing & trading books, I’m always looking to add to my collection.
Does anyone out there know of a list of books that are must reads for traders? I like the classics as well as the new stuff.
I've read Market Wizards, The New Market Wizards, The Disciplined Trader, The Futures Game: Who Wins, Who Loses & Why, The Jesse Livermore books, and a number of others just to name a few.
Did anybody mention J Hulls derivative and financial instruments book. Very good introduction for algo tradersI am a fan of Peter Brandt who is a classic chartist. Learned his craft from 2 books:
1) the Edward's and Magee book (my personal favorite)
2) the Richard Schabacker book (currently reading)
I've read and enjoyed Brandt's first book and own his second book
Brandt admits there's no edge to classic patterns (may be 40% win rate) and that his edge comes from his money and risk management. Peter's first book talks about his trading plan in really good detail
Really liked your collection buddy!FREE
I'm getting rid of a number of trading related books that I've collected over the years. I have tried offering these on other threads but no interest. I'll keep them for another few weeks...say until the end of August and then they're going to charity/bin.
The specialist trading ones include Hull, Kolb and Curtis Faith (Turtle guy) and a couple of others domain-relevant.
There are also some more general subject matter of use to anyone seriously interested in the "human" challenges to trading.
There are some 13 books in all and I just want them to go to a good home and don't want money. I can't be bothered to pack up and post them so they are for collection in South West London as one lot or I'd be happy to meet up somewhere in London to hand them over.
See list below:
Futures, Options and Other Derivatives - John Hull*
Futures, Options and Other Derivatives - Solutions Manual - John Hull
Futures, Options and Swaps - Robert Kolb**
Way of the Turtle - Curtis Faith
The Black Swan - Nassim Taleb
Lecturing Birds on Flying - Pablo Triana
A Treatise on Probability - John Maynard Keynes
Super Freakonomics - Steven Levitt & Stephen Dubner
The Organised mind - Daniel Levitin
Predictably Irrational - Dan Ariely
The Perils of Perception - Bobby Duffy
The Brain that changes itself - Norman Doidge
Tricks of the Mind - Derren Brown
59 Seconds - Richard Wiseman
As you can see, the lower section is psychy/thinky/brainy type stuff. I found all of them to be interesting/useful in varying degrees. Super Freakonomics is somewhat alone but good stuff for anyone interested in the the quali/quanti debate so beloved of TA/FA rivals.... or put another way, The Art of Science. In any case it's entertaining and informative.
Condition of most is good or mint with the exception of the ones with asterisks:
* cover chewed by dog
**cover chewed by T.Rex
Both complete and pages in good condition
some good ones hereIts a useful list but, as it was said before, it would be better to search for existing topics and add it there so more visitors could see it.
I`d like to add some:
The Playbook - must read for daytrader
Bull, bears and millionaires - moslty about trading in general
Zurich axioms - short list of main points of trading, but some of them quite contraversal. A good thing to think about.
Wow, that's an impressive collection, thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I'm not from England, but I will check some of these books out for myself.FREE
