1 month 1 hr - bulls in control

1 yr daily - 537 level to watch if 528 taken out and then 560

5yr weekly - levels to watch are 528 & 560 for failure and a short position triggered

the week ahead
A busier week than last week is in store with FTSE 100 stocks Bunzl, G4S, Admiral, Serco, WPP Group, Cairn Energy, Kazakhmys and Diageo all due to make trading announcements.

Distribution and outsource specialist Bunzl gets the show on the road on Monday with its interim results. The company has already indicated that revenues for the first half of the year rose 17% though underlying revenue, which removes acquisitions and exchange rate fluctuations from the picture, was marginally lower.

Broker Charles Stanley is expecting a slight improvement in interim pre-tax profits to £117m from £110.8m last year.

Security solutions provider G4S is also due to announce figures on Monday. Panmure Gordon believes the focus will be on ‘the extent to which the company’s organic growth is slowing and the strength of its margins at this stage of the cycle.’

The broker is forecasting revenues of £3.2bn versus the £2.7bn seen in the first half of last year. Earnings before interest, tax and amortisation are tipped to rise to £208m from £174.8m while adjusted pre-tax profit is forecast to rise to £173m from £139.8m. That’s a little bit more optimistic than Charles Stanley’s forecast of profit before tax of £165m.

hi ws.england"s ashes
did u play well against marple ..??

unfortunately not ...............I got out for the first duck of the season.

I fielded 50 overs and was feeling dizzy, I witnessed the ball go through my defence matrix style in slow motion....

I am not playing cricket in Ramadan again, so that means a premature end to the season

ws. yes fasting during daylight is a problem.blood sugar levels need to be maintained
must be the duck that made you feel dizzy !!

oil

potential break out looming ..........early signal to breakout of AAl and BP

we held double bottom @ $73.6

if we fail to go higher and break of $73.6 then I will short open up short

Cheers WS, Dentist - great analysis for the early birds to digest! It promises to be an interesting week with all the data coming out.

I've been short this outrageous gap on FTSE since 4533 on reaching S2 @ 4945 (don't think I've ever seen a gap of +90 on FTSE?) - looking for pre-market downward movement into the open - have top of channel and S1 coinciding just shy of 4900 as a first target to see if we re-enter that channel.

Lots of opportunity out there and some good overnight ranges on forex coming into the start of the week for my set-ups - good luck all.

Morning everyone. Lap, am trying to play with forex these days, just learning about channel and US open breakouts, will appreciate if you can post some of your setups and planned entry/exit pivots.

I will post some if its helpful - just not today, have a second round interview with ceo for a new job this afternoon, so been up early trying to get my trades set up as I'll be out for rest of day. Hopefully make enough for the tube fare :|

Right back into channel on open, first target met, next is gap fill @ 4851

Didn't see that overnight gap @ 4870 - 4880, 20,30pm last night. That's what you get looking at candlesticks with sleep in your eyes. That should really have been my second target - nevermind, stop above S1 @4905, will just let it run.

EDIT: ok well that was annoying, that yesterday evening gap was filled and didn't even see it beforehand - +27 bagged and the remainder set to run from a stop @ 4905 on a limit order, thats it for me.
