Only 6000?
Took your eye off the ball there then... ;-)

Haha.
By the way. What do you guys think about the NYSE hybrid market. Any of you traded some Hybrid stocks already? It's absolutely great. The fills are instant. You can trade with the specialist instantly. Except when an LRP gets hit and the slow market is activated. But damn. AXP was awesome when it sold off. It trades a little like the NASDAQ, so that's nice.

What do you guys think about it.

-Dave.

Hi Samtron, how's it going?

DVDH, no I don't trade it. 6000 shares, wow! Millionaire now I see...LOL

Great to see you guys and as dvdh would say
TRADE SAFE (lol)
catch u latter

Dave,
I will comment about that, but not here and now...but I agree, the arca merger has helped and things should get better.....
Currently got my teeth in a pre-market QCOM short but will cover for a fistful of $$$ soon, I think.

What a horrible day. SOES was OFFLINE. Market traded slow because of supermontage not working. I had a big error in YHOO this morning, because of SOES.
Stocks didn't move. Anyone else had problems trading this morning?

-Dave

Yes, Dave, level 2 was up the spout and I had to rely on charts and T&S. Got a very nice short on NTRI, but when I tried to pyramid up the position it wouldn't let me. I managed the position just on T&S, which was fine, but the lack of transparency limited the opportunities drastically today.

BIDU was really nice. But my book was showing quotes like 93.90 bid at 93.39. And you couldn't trade the offer. And that's still not solved.

Yep, I found it impossible to trade inside the spread as well.
Such a quiet afternoon, I've had time to catch up with my emails !

Since you guys are back, I'm going to join in the fun! Been having a good time today with MOLX. I'm sure a few of you other guys have been too.

It was floating above the whole number of 32, so I decided just as a test to post a bid for 5 lots on EDGX at the whole number.

I pulled it, and within under a second the price had fallen down without any volume! Computer algorithms taking over?

See the screenshot, and observe the time stamps:

1) Placed bid
2) Pulled bid
3) Down goes price

Mmmm, fun :)

Note: I wouldn't advise anyone to do this unless they are experienced! Had someone decided to hit all the bids I could have been long 500 in a falling stock if I didn't have a larger short position on.

grey1 was 10 000 short QCOM to day with his buddies watching the trade when QCOM bulls walked away from the trade.. .. managing risk is a must in this game and people who are trading with me have noticed why and how postion managment can give traders an edge to come on top every day

BP IMHO thats a crazy connection, computer algorithms would not be permitted to trade a 15:03 far to volatile. More a coincidence I would say.

Whatever it was, it was interesting. There was a post just the other day about someone who used the relationship between BRUT and INET for algorithmic trading and of course can't anymore since the merger.

Computer algorithms written by people trade all day every day.. no such thing for them as too volatile when probabilities are relatively well known and accounted for.

EDIT: 15:03 was in my time zone, which makes it 18:03 for you (13:03 EST) - a less "volatile" time! Although I am still certain that there are computer algorithms running at all times to take advantage of opportunities.

Hi BP,
13.03 EST is a different story altogether! (sorry for the confusion) :)
MM out for lunch, and prime time for the bots.
