Trump Presidency and the Consequences

Does anyone on this site trade anymore?
Just asking.
yes, only intraday and only DOW atm
busy with some property refab and stoking the wood-burner, I like outdoors fire/camping, and to have it inside of the front-room is an old boy bit of fun.
Otherwise following whats going on, especially in the US. Lots of my family live there, and like me they are not socialists. Will not say too much as some will make inconsistent with reality and simple logic statements with little consequences.
Would point that it is always advisable to guard against identity politics, (check on internet if not sure what it is), political correctness, derailed and totally corrupted Marxist's ideology and many other crazy things that are part of our times.

The day that the majority of Britons take any notice of this right wing bigot, then we are well, and truly, stuffed.
And yet we did! And are no longer in the European Union thanks to Sir Nigel Farage. He has accomplished much more in his lifetime than you have or ever will. And that's not a pointed comment at You its almost certainly true of everyone on this site.

You give him too much credit. It was the ERG that led the campaign for Brexit. He stood to be an MP, unsuccessfully, on more than one occasion.

You're too late!
It's already happened.
They voted Brexit.
:p

I'm too late too....
@postman beat me to it.

:ROFLMAO:
UK has left something they have never joined, how could that happen? The power of filthy manipulation.
Manipulators make simple thing looking very complex, eg, if one like to buy a bag of potatoes, one does not need Brussels meddling as to - where the potatoes are from, the size, water content ect

That's funny.

Farage and co cleaned up at the European elections, left everyone in their wake.

Aren't we glad UK has left the snake pit of Brussels, the nightmare of political union is not good for Europe.
Europe is a Continent of nations, it is not a matter of a childish play of "better or worse", it is a matter of differences which positively supplements the tapestry of life.
Of course UK has been ripped off in Brussels, but that was not the main reason to leave the sneak-pit.

So if it wasn't sovereignty then what was it? Just curious.

You're quite right. I've never stood to be an MP in 5 general, and 2 local, elections and lost. I don't know why. I must be doing something wrong :ROFLMAO:

Back to Trump. I'd like to see this scenario but, unfortunately, not likely

I agree Alan, but if I had to put money on which of the two is most likely to end up behind bars - it would be Clinton and not Trump. After all, she deserves to be there as she's the only real crook!

Equally, we don't have to ensure those pesky food standards, you know, like chlorinated chickens, provenance of the meat in lasagnas, control of additives in foods, labelling foods containing nuts, etc.
Mmmmmm, Soylent Green.

It is the standardisation of regs that allows the EU to be treated as a single economic block.
This helps business.
If each country had its own rules, then corporations would have to fill out forms for each and every country they wanted to export to. This would make business more expensive.
A car made in the EU should be easily sold in the EU, because they have agreed standards across borders.
If each country had different rules on safety, emissions, efficiency of engines, you would have to make cars specific to each country, and the multiple docs needed.

Speaking of cars, didnt a brexit supporter who made Landrovers (or something) decide to build cars from France now instead of Wales??

EDIT: Off-topic! This the Trump thread!

Trump was being used as a useful idiot by the more savvy political operators.
When Trump is gone, he will lose any real power, and no-one will want to associate themselves with him.
He has ruined his own brand, through his own actions.
No books tours, no late-night chat shows, no endorsement deals.
Only people on the edges, small audiences. He will be seen as more of an embarrassment than he already is.
He is damaging the chances of his own children into public office and cannot countenance anyone that doesn't show total support of him (Rudy "hairbleed" Guiliani isn't going to be paid! Ha!), since he cant conceive of an idea where he isn't the centre of it.

Yes the main reason was sovereignty, absolutely right!
Ummm, I think we're having different conversations:) What exactly do you mean by "ripped off in Brussels" then ?

Oh dear.
You might have picked the wrong topic here to showcase EU standards.

Errrrrrrrr.....

.. may I suggest these off-topic discussions are continued on their own thread 'Farage and the consequences' perhaps? .. or at least could be taking place in the 'Brixit' thread.

Blame may be laid at Trump's feet for many things, but the European Car Makers fiddling emissions being one of them is a bit of a stretch.

;)
