I think somebody somewhere someday will have to start discussing death planning.
Sorry to be cynical but we have an impending aging, pension and death problem and NHS or social services not likely to be able to cope with expectations of looking after the elderly in some fancy way until they die out because organs simply fail. The poor elderly lady who had to drink from a vase - I expect didn't have access to a phone or any family who could help. Check up on her perhaps. Does she live alone, if so how at her age?
We need to discuss euthanasia so people can die with dignity in a planned and controlled way...
Don't elderly people have any family to take care of them? Also, it is very difficult to take care of any elderly person who is bed bound.
As for the NHS - underpayed and under resourced and yet we are to pay up to £75,000K p/a looking after the elderly so they can maintain their houses to pass on to their children who can't be bothered to look after them. It is a joke.
Those nurses who work their socks off to the core and are paid the extra ordinary sum of £7,500 p/a whilst training can be such heartless souls. Working long hours and shift work. Nothing is quite good enough.
Nurses can't afford property to rent or families because they are paid a pittance whilst some old codger who is ready to rollover gets 10 times as much. Our society is becoming so illogical and messed up. :whistling
I mean we have birth control, pregnancy planning, pension planning and the unexpected old age and death
Always catches people out that one.
Apologies in advance Splitlink...
