An ignorant being patient is only waiting to lose. A knowledgeable being patient is waiting to win or win more.

The key is knowledge. But knowledge is definitely not curve fitting. Knowledge is to understand why someone should take money out of his wallet, giving it to you to put in your wallet.

At least you have to have skills to convince him that the money changing hands is benefitting for him. :)

Not necessarily. In a theoretical scenario, if you have ways of identifying a robbery to take place. All you have to do is follow the robber. When the robbery occurs, the robber will in his haste to get away, drop some loot. You can go pick up those loot without needing to convince him it's beneficial for him to let you keep what you have found. He would be satisfied with what he's got.
