It would be nice if politicians were more honest.

But the best way to eliminate tax evasion is to establish a fair system of taxation.

Besides, less money to the government, means more money for investment and consumer spending. Lower taxes mean more greater investment in the private sector which means more jobs, more tax revenue and less money being expended by the government for social programs.

Immoral acts of politicians are not limited to tax evasion.

What a selfish anti social view. Money isn't everything you skinflint scrooge type. Got a sackful of loot stashed away abroad too I expect. The potholes won't be filled in on your expense then. High time the dregs are flushed from the tax havens and pay double their share to make up for their thieving ways imho
All income should be declared or forfeited.
Many at the top just can't resist it and so the loopholes remain open.

Just as there is the unregulated black economy of the 'let's call it poor hard working people' there is another whiter than white economy of the 'let's call it, filthy rich and privileged, powerful and well connected elite' who avoid declaring wealth and paying any tax likewise.

Black economy - 4% of GDP
White economy - 40% of GDP

Both unregistered, never recorded, tax exempt earnings.
