I am looking to mentor people who want to trade UK options for a living. I have been trading since '99 with mostly success, but after all this time I think I know many of the pitfalls,so if anyone is genuinely interested in being mentored, please contact me.
I'm not looking for fees from the first few,but ultimately want to put together courses and books that appeal to a wider audience.
Note:
In trading there is no such thing as a stupid question.

It's worth mentioning that ALL successful traders have been mentored.I have had some mentoring but retreated into my cave as we are wont to do. that cost me a few years and some losses. Unless we are totally honest with ourselves we are destined to fail, and no amount of daydreaming will pay the rent.
I can genuinely put people on the track to making consistent profits while limiting downside. Option trading is way beyond the mindset of most people, and that is the key. The option traders I know make money, but I cannot say that for most other types of traders,ie shares, futures, forex. Challenge me and move on in your trading life. I apologize to the option traders who make 20% a month as they will know this stuff, and are probably grinning right now!

To ensure you get appropriate replies, it might be worth mentioning:

a: a minimum trading account size to make it worth it.
b: times of day trading takes place. (ie, does the person need to be full-time mentoree, or can a part-timer PM you)
c: the kinds of returns you anticipate from your expereince.
d: the time-frame of the mentoring process before anyone becomes effective.

The above insights can help people self-filter before contacting you.
Good luck with your project.
If you need a proof-reader for your courses and books, I am available!

Good day,
I am genuine and would be interested to know more.

yes i d have a look too
never no what one may learn
Hi,been busy but I think I should point out that I am looking to mentor people who I can see fairly locally. I would expect to see an account size of £25k,but don't worry there's zero chance of losing £25k. I would want people to understand fully what they are doing. I thought I did and spent 2 years catching up against a rising market.
I don't have to worry about which way the market is going so long as it stays within ±7% or so each month, and my own style produces bigger profits when the market does make bigger moves.
Have a look at monthly ftse100 data on Yahoo and see how little it moves each month to month while bumping around in a range.
I expect to have risk around 350 points above the index and up to 500 points below.

Fall for what?

He's been a contributing member since 2003.

Where do you get off with trying to rubbish everything that anyone does?

Well you have to admit it normally turns out to be rubbish doesn't it? Name me one 'mentor' who peddles his wares here that didn't?

Did anybody fall for it yet?

Good day. Thanks for your good sense. It's amazing how good some of the advice is on here to stop guys losing money.
I belong to a group that sometimes meets in Windlesham and thought it might be good to meet with Windlesham1. I have since found out he used to come to our group.
Where are you based? Perhaps we could chat on here if you are too far away.
I live near Wimbledon.

sure no problem. don't forget to bring your statements along. :cheesy:

For the avoidance of doubt.
1. I am not charging or expecting to charge or collect fees for a small group, this is my first step into mentoring properly. My money comes from trading.
2. I can assure you that anyone who knows me here knows that I am genuine, and have had my share of ups and downs, but have arrived at a point where I think I have something of real value to share.
I will respond to private messages and look forward to meeting people who know the truth about trading is that we cannot do it alone. Livermore,Buffett,Rogers,Lynch they ALL learned from others.

smokenfx I strongly urge you to get some help. You ask about options pricing,I am talking about mentoring, what is your point? I am not an educator, anyone can do that, and as Frank Zappa said if you want to get laid,go to college,if you want to learn something go to a library.
You completely and utterly miss the point, and I am not going to rewrite the same text as is available in hundreds of book and free resources on the internet. That would not be mentoring.
Most people use Black Scholes for pricing, but you can use Whalley, Hoadley, binomial whatever,it makes little difference. you will never trade in sufficient size to worry about the 0.5% variation.
Your response showed a naive approach and I was being respectful, clearly you have another agenda.
Feel free to come along and meet me however and we could iron out a few things you seem to have a problem with.

option pricing:
Delta: rate of change of the option, gamma: rate of change of delta, theta: time decay,
vega: sensitivity to volatility, rho: sensitivity to change of interest rate.
It's not simple, which is why Fisher Black and Myron Scholes won the Nobel prize for it.
Happy now? Or would you like the BS formula?
Now please,as you show no understanding on English or trading,go away and annoy someone else. You have no track record, and nothing to contribute here. Doubtless you are another angry wannabe,in need of a mentor.

Note:
In trading there is no such thing as a stupid question.

What about the destruction few years ago (March 2010)?

Is that to be expected again (part of the strategy) or was it a temporary 12 months' system failure?
