Sticky I'm New To T2W - Where Do I Start?

FIRST POST ALERT... Taken a career break and having a go at learning day trading. Started in September and whilst my trading account is down since the start of January I have been getting a lot more success from scalp trading on low timeframe. Whilst I'm still learning i'm spending all day looking at charts (will stress I'm not trading all day) tend to look for setups with the strategy i've learnt.

Trading on your own can be a lonely place so I am looking for a trading community as I have so many un-knowns which I'm confident people that have been in the day trading space will have the answers.

I'm currently using Trading212 as a trading platform, also used Saxo and have been trading CFD's (yes bad decisions have worked out expensive) but thankfully I smelt the coffee and stay away from Stock CFD's these days. I'm getting alot more success short term trading oil which has a reputation for being hard however I've been succesful.

I am after some advice, what paltforms are people using ??? spreads look expensive on trading212

Any feedback appreciated and look forward to joining the community
Carlo

Hi, I've just started a thread in Index Futures for people just like you wanting to discuss their trading hopefully over time we could form a group. Please join me there to discuss some ideas.

Welcome Carlo.

I don't know much about scalping, it isn't someting I have tried. It looks like most scalpers just see what is moving fastest each morning and if it's going up they buy it and if it's going down they sell it - just momentum trading really. But why do you think they mostly lose money?

You would not want to scalp without using Newsquawk.

More now, what is going on in the world.

My first post here.

I was a very active contributor at ET, but today I have been unfairly banned, though I did nothing wrong,
the mod there (or to be correct: the site owner named Baron) believed the lies of the haters.
My username there was/is Quanto. Here at T2W that nick is in use by someone else, so I took "RealQuanto" instead..

I'm a senior programmer (C++) and options expert (specialised on US stocks and their options),
but started to make some money with options only just recently.
Ie. I'm at the beginning of this career path as retail options trader.

I'm located in Central Europe.

I think I'll post mostly in the Options forum here.
Till then :)

WelcomeRQ
Since you are an option expert please tell me why I find trading credit spread so difficult, I don't fill.
Thanks

Hi, thx!
Of course I can try to help. Do you mind to continue this topic in the Options forum here?
Ie. better ask the question there, as then it would be in the correct forum,
as also the Terms of Use / Forum Guidelines here require this (I know this b/c I just yesterday have read them when registering here :))

That's too bad about getting banned. People believe what they want to believe, and the haters can overwhelm a mod with pressure.

Hi Kewin,

I think we all would be happy if you did share your experiences in trading with us.

Hi, I am a newbie to this forum. It's been 3years (On 25 May) trading currencies and commodities. It will be a pleasure to hang out with you all.

Aime.

Hi I'm new here
Also new to trading
I've heard about the relevance of this forum so fantastic
So I hope to have some good experiences there

First post here in T2W.
Well, I'll try to say few words about me and my trading journey. My name is Olympio, you can call me Oly. I am from Rio de Janeiro. 46 y.o
Pandemic changed my life and I decided to develop some profitable activity online, and fell in love for trading. I still consider I am in the learning curve, as I read books and watch my fears and greed and slowly I realize how amazing trading is an inner knowledge journey.
What motivated me to join this forum is trying to make friends and share trading experiences, since we (can) work on pajamas and most of times it's a lonely activity with lonely decisions.

Cheers.

Oly.

HELP PLS! It's clear that the majority of platforms which claim to generate income through artificial intelligence are fraudulent, for instance, traderinvest (which probably falls into the same category). From a beginner's perspective in this area: is it theoretically possible to find any reliable platforms that aid in earning money with the help of artificial intelligence?
No such thing, as far as I know.

Hi, I am very new here also. Please tell me what should I do and how. Thanks for welcoming. Nice to join here.
