Hi there...,

Thanks for posting the daily 4cast. I have been looking at your trading levels and have noticed that your exit seems to be always at the best case exit possible with one of your resistance and support levels. There is no clear exit strategy.?

How many points are you averaging with each index.?

Regards

Dear Daps

We have another forecast for FX which has a "user guide" and "FAQ" which explains our strategies. We are preparing the same documents for indices forecast to cover your question. But your argument is not correct at all. We do not exit at best case scenario. We have always said the 4casts are complement to your own analysis and money management skills. As a trader you should watch the market movement. We provide entry levels very clearly. Our strategy is to close a position at next support(if short) or resistant (if long). But we always said, you should look at the fundamentals (like University of Michigan report, Fed decision etc...) and also look at the chart. If you see a rally or a sharp fall is happening in the market you can hold to your positions until the next support/resistant and next and next....

If you pick any of our forecast which shows an exit better than the first suggested exit and bring up the chart for that day and time you will see the market had a sharp rise or fall in that period of time.

We hope this can help you to understand the 4casts better, but if you have any queries please let us know.

you seem to be getting signals from the Cash Index.

as you cant trade the Cash, what are you suggesting should be traded.?

Yes they are based on cash index but why can't you trade cash under daily CFDs? Our signals are daily signals for short term trading. We could produce for futures contract too but since the positions should be closed at the end of trading day, we use cash prices. But you can use CFDs and even spreadbetting account to trade daily indices. Of course you need to apply the wider spread in some platforms to our signals before any trade.

Hi,

This looks very interesting, could you supply your indices forecast for 2nd September please,
also, looking at the report you buy/sell based on the main box, once prices cross these levels you have either a buy or sell position, then you use your range box to fix stoplosses and price targets, is that correct?

When you close out a trade because it reaches your price target, can you get back in, if the market continues in the same direction? If the stoploss is reached, is that it for the day, you should do no more trades ?

Many Thanks for your help

Osho

Thank you for your comment. It seems for some reason we forgot to upload the report for 2nd September. We attached it here. Sorry! Regarding how to use the signals yes, you are correct. In fact we have a similar report for forex 4cast and it does have a user guide and FAQ and you can download it from our weblog. It explains in details how to use the 4casts. The principle is the same and it answers all your questions. We are in process of making a user guide for the indices 4cast too and as soon as it is ready we will post it here. But if you had any more question or any comment please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi,

IT is in our weblog. When you go to the website you should click on the weblog option on top menu. Then when you are in the weblog you should choose Daily FX 4cast category from left menu bar. The User Guide and FAQ are as sticky notes right on top of the page but to make life easy for everybody we post the files here. Please bear in mind these are for forex reports but you can apply the same principle for indices too.

Best regards

thought you might say something like that

but as tradeable prices are both based on futures ..........

you will seldom be able to trade when the cash index hits your trigger point without a 3pt diff on the open trade and another 3 on the close.

I dont follow your explanation of why you use the Cash instead of futures -"because the positions should be closed at the end of the trading day"

especially so as futures trade after cash has closed.

Hi
Yes you are right and you can trade futures instead but the problem is you should always have the differential or what is called "curve" value in your calculations to adjust the daily cash and future prices in our 4Cast for your entry/exit. This can cause confusion for novice trader. There are many factors determining the curve value and it can change by changes in fundamental factors such as interest rates etc..

What we meant about day trading perhaps has been misinterpreted. What we said was that since our reference for calculating entry/exit is cash prices and we want the trader to close his position at the close of the market then we encourage them to use the same instrument (cash) for their trades. The argument is for some traders who are US citizen or resident and CFDs or SB are not available to them perhaps the best way to do is to use futures.
Des it sound more understandable now?

This is exactly what we do not want a trader to do. Discipline is the most important part of a successful trade. If trader becomes attached to a trade and thinks he can still keep the positions after the close then he might be tempted to do so and imagine if we have a very bad/good news like earning after the close (which is very common in US) then the future prices can rise or fall sharply and a winning position turn a losing one.

When you subscribe to the 4Cast from our website, the reports will be sent to you around midnight everyday and they are valid until close of business of the same day. So if you receive the 4Cast for 7th September tonight around midnight, the 4cast is valid until close of the market on 7th September.

Is this what you meant? Please advise if you need more information.
