Countryken this is a exellent thread Ken much appreciated. Do you ever use betting exchanges such as Betfair? Which bookmakers do you use?

They often get mentioned on betfair.

And what is the consensus, good, bad or ugly?
I havve found that although they claim to have made a fortune they certainly did not by using the same selections as they sent me over a period of 1 year!

Thanks for that. Sceptical with reason in my opinion.
I use Betfair but have not been on their boards.

The forum on Betfair can be quite good, if you ignore some of the trash. I receive some free tips everyday from Steady Eddy at toptipster, but have never followed them up. Have you and Ken ever come across a man called Alan Woods who is based in the Far East and has huge syndicates betting on Hong Kong races?

Good Morning and a Hello to you Dave,

Firstly, one will find this hard to believe, but im not here to start telling lies.

Brimardon, a chap who lives in Darlington and hes name is - Martin Thompson
he showed interest in my system as i have personally a strict set of rules based
only on Group one Courses, the number of bets that do come along are not that
many, on average on the Turf Flat, the systems kicks off in May till the end of August
so i would say i have about between 12-18 bets in that period, and i never fail to show
a profit.
Martin was willing to offer me £50k yes £50k.


Ref Systems, i would say, just a handful do work, but one has to be patient
for a bet to come along.

The system im talking about is based on none handicap, it works well over the
Jumps, again it kicks off in December and runs through till the end of March, its not
to be used during the Cheltenham festival.

I bets i post on here are purely on a fun basis, but with the aim of trying to show a
profit - in which im doing.


As for Tipsters ( Tipping Services ) personally, very few of them do make you a
decent profit.
Take Henry Rix, he suggest that if you wish to join him to make your racing worth while
you must have a grand total of £10k, hes fees are around £1500-£2000
I have lost a bit of touch with hes service as he has no clue when it comes to Handicap
races. Im able till this day to get hold of hes tips.
To break it down, i would say about 98% of tipsters don't make it pay.

Finally you would need a large betting bank.


As for me, i do treat my racing serious, but im not a true gambler in the true sense.

My min stake is £20 and my Max is £50

I hope this has helped to shed some light on systems and tipsters - and not
forgetting myself LOL

Ref your question, yes i do use Betfair and yes of course Bookmakers
I have accounts with most of the bookmakers, its simple, shopping for
value.

Interesting what you have to sat about Brimadon. I had a year with them about 5 years ago and over the year I was quite significantly down.

Never was a truer word spoken and it doesn't just apply to horse racing either. It applies to all "get rich quick schemes".

I receive these in the mail fairly regularly and they get transferred from letter box to garbage bin at a vast rate of knots.
