hey all

well the usd finally surrendered around 4.45 BST and has been selling since (3.45 GMT on chart)

that 2.30 GMT - 3.45 GMT on the chart was tough tough tough...........a lot of traders would have taken hits as the usd chopped like a lumberjack

Europeans took no prisoners going north so perhaps some escaped the carnage on GU EU buys ......jees you were lucky !

EUR under 0 at TF 4H,1H,15M
USD abover 0 at TF 4H,1H,15M
Also USD and JPY above 0
but the trade was negative.Can you please tell me whre is my mistake?

on the 15m F I see an extended period of usd and JPY buys .........the entry must always come from the lowest TF ..........otherwise if you have to wait for longer TF's the short TF is already in trade and will probably reverse for losses before you can make any money

if you entered on the charts shown the usd and yen have already been positive for hours ............they will and must retrace soon after this ......the best opportunity has gone (unless you are trading retraces/selloffs which is completely different system)

does that make sense ?

jees the dow eh ?...............been a while since I was using that

read my thread since these early days right to where I am now ................this is a great learner slope though F so practice

for anyone not sure here in the early days of this thread (and in my signature links) I talk about the correlation between

rising Dow , falling usd and yen
Falling Dow , rising usd and yen

in other words the ole carry trade correlation

it still does work at times but must confess I don't use this method much myself these days ...........

lets take a look right now !

recent signals ..............you can trade them raw or use multiple time frame confirmation ...................

the 4hr was firing strong yesterday buying usd / yen ......nothing today so far
The 1 hr was big yesterday supporting those 4hr usd / yen buys ...and it also scored the usd buys this morning
the 15m shows 3 trades ......again it scores the big move this morning London opening

I was talking about this system from early days on this thread and its still a great little primer for people wanting to learn to play with correlation and strengthmeters

its still in the links below in signature area .........and remember to enter as soon as the signal starts ............if you let it run and wait to press the button you are missing pips and may go in toooo late

also guys (and in my word document in links) I think I mention that this system is pretty good even if you ignore the Dow and just look for correlation on the usd and yen

so many many ways to play strengthmeters

and so little time !

and remember my caveat all................strengthmeters are MA based and all MA's lag .........the past does not guarantee the future ...........

please please always incorporate some form of Price action in your system that introduces real time analysis and signals

well 9.14 BST was the last of the euro's bull ..............lets see if that ends up as high for the London morning session

GBP has gone through the roof ..........

eu selling .........up to 30 pips of Euro in those falls since 9.14 BST......about 6 pips of usd in the mix

usd turning north now finally ................may be time to attach GU sells again

5734 may end up the high for GU ?
