you need vendors to hand over money to pay for servers and things. In return vendors want click throughs and stuff.

you need n00bs coming to the forum to click through to the vendors.

you need good, lively content in the forum for n00bs to sign up and learn about their new found hobby.

you need experienced traders to write the content that n00bs come to read so they can be bombarded with ads to click on a few to pay for the servers that run the forum software that holds what the more experienced guy wrote.

seems to me you have a plethora of vendors and n00bs...

It's my forum and everyone will enjoy it whether they like it or not. Those are the rules.

That's a good starting point to build from. No hypocrisy, can't be misunderstood, and people know where they stand.

You can't have the tail wagging the dog.

Hi Steve,
I have a suggestion for No. 12. How about . . .

12. You're either for or against us. We welcome constructive criticism to help make things right when we slip up. However, this is very different from having a completely anti-T2W agenda and needlessly and pointlessly finding fault (often where none exists) at every twist and turn. Anyone who clearly does not have the site's best interests at heart, along with that of it's members, can be expected to be shown the door.

I think that would solve quite a few of the site's problems quite quickly!
Tim.

In a recent post I made about adding a "follower" feature, Tim made the following comment in his reccomendation of it:

"Fair points Dash - shame you feel the need to 'wite in l1ke, ye know, retraded stylee'. Hard to do and very tedious to read! Tim."

So, you know, you try and point them in the right direction, and in return they make snide remarks about your persona.

Really what is the point of being here at all?

I've been the victim of similar comments after providing perfectly reasonable constructive criticism. Anyone who saw those comments in isolation would probably be quite shocked.

However it's not that simple, because many of us have a history, long standing disagreements that will never be resolved, etc. I just accept it as banter, and what's source for the goose, is sauce for the gander.

I also acknowledge the limitations of the written word, and have on occasions caused considerable offense by comments that where not intended to hurt, but led to situations that where never intended. Communicating by leaving comments I not ideal (although the users of twitter don't seam to share my view)

If I had to have a choice between the odd sarcastic but usually funny comment from a mod or member of staff, or Steve's sterile politically correct Orwellian nightmare, I know which I'd chose.

I think the more seasoned campaigners here are pretty much as in the Dark as we were before

no worries .....i'll stay on board and see how it goes....running out of patience being part of the fun police though to the majority of really bad newbie/vendor attempts

Members far more cynical than myself have suggested that Steve's just following the usual "steady as she goes, lets steer the same old course" policy.

It's always hard work teasing out details of what people actually want (most have no idea) but there are a few fundamental values and principles that are becoming clearer. Although this doesn't bode well, it's progress of a sort and one step closer to a resolution.

How can you possibly police the vendor situation when the vendors are provided with practically all of the tools they need to exploit the forums generosity, and you are provided with nothing ? Even the odd sarcastic comment is likely to get you a ban for hurting their feelings.

Nice junk mail from Vin-X, I imagine this is the sort of vendor T2W would distance itself from. Remember this is the same guy that ran Wills and Co.

"A reminder to come and join us at the MoneyShow at the QEII Conference Centre, Westminster, this Friday and Saturday 2nd - 3rd *November. Visit us on stand 500, hear Vin-X founder Peter Shakeshaft speak about investing in fine wine and join the world's foremost experts at the event ranked #1 for investors and traders six years running by the Trade2Win Members Choice Awards"

Absolutely not, I intend to keep this as wide as I can. I just want to avoid some of the senseless rubbish that bears no resemblance to anything trading related. I guess experience and time will tell on this one as I don't want to be too prescriptive, that's when you end up with the ridiculously long rule book that I want to avoid.

It’s not that I distrust your judgement, but I think you are in danger of killing this forum through over-regulation, much like what Politicians have done to our economy. I can’t understand why you think people would come to a trading forum to post “rubbish” when they have youtube. I think you should just leave us alone.

What about porno and escort services to cater for the loosers and winners ? I suspect there would be quite a demand for the former.

There we have it in a nutshell...we start off with a post, and then its sidetracked. We then have pages and pages of banter and we've missed the point entirely.
If there is just one relevant point to be made, its lost.
Thats what we should be policing. Show us a chart, go on, show what the hell this has to to with trading, if it hasn't delete the thread.

What's the point in showing charts, theres a thousand threads with charts on forexfactory, you think any of them are going to make you money?

I can show you my running trade. When I did that in another thread people complained. Maybe you and others should fight it out and let the winner decide if I should show my trade.

I think that would have been more beneficial than the majority of posts on here..
And PB its not about making money, its about discussing trading yeah? What's your view, well this is mine..it encourages meaningful related content. i might learn, you might learn hey stranger things have happened. Now this will no doubt lead to another few pages where the point is lost..do you see where I'm getting at?

Ok, here's my trade chart to living up this thread. Will ths be a winner or looser ?

will it be a winner or loser, well I have no idea as I dont know which bias you're taking, but if i do a rough analysis based on the only information i can see this is what I come up with. I may be looking to go long with a nice triple top setup along the way..targets are there to see. Who knows if its going to win or lose but we have a discussion going..but perhaps not this thread right?

My arrows are pointing down. So I am biased on the short side. Since we disagree, this would make a nice contest: your chart against my chart.

I know mate, a good discussion where I see things different from you..oh f*** me its related to trading. And im not in it to make money.
And it really needs to close higher than my blue line for my buy signal to take effect, otherwise I wouldn't be doing anything with this just yet. Just so you know..

I was looking for a move. But looks like it died. So nothing doing until NZ open. I might pull it on a random gut feel. Now, I'll let it sleep while I go get late dinner.
