sorry but I'm a female and have only just joined today. It seems as I have posted the wrong person I was trying to reply to someone who had asked the question of the whereabouts of Stacy Morland who was living in Spain, as I am looking for him myself

The problem I think you're all going to have when looking for certain people is that the names you know them by are not their real names.

These scammers aren't stupid, they know if they rip people off some of them are going to start asking questions which is why they cover their tracks very well.

stacy morland

Anyone come across Stacy Morland?
He's based in Spain and is trying to sell shares in his web site that lets US citizens play European lotteries.

I have been looking for him, do you have any info please:smart:

Squeaky

You must answer these questions first and be able to back them up with hard facts -

1) Is his/her name really Stacy Morland
2) How do you actually know he/she is based in Spain

If you answer either or both of those questions by saying 'because he/she told me' or 'because it's on the website' then those are not hard facts.

Sorry to sound depressing but if you're going to find this person you must base your search on firm foundations and not heresay.

Good luck anyway.

Hi

Has anyone heard of Bishopsgate Capital Stockbrokers in London

Regards John @ Tramsteer

Assuming they're who they say they are (not certain when it comes to fraudsters) they are at least FSA authorised. A couple of things stand out on the FSA register FSA Register : Error: Unable to display the page Firstly they're not authorised to hold client money, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Secondly, a trawl through the employees previous firms shows that some have worked at the likes of Pacific Contintental and Square Mile. To me this says that they're not a boiler room in the sense of an out and out fraud. They'll probably be pushing genuine if extremely risky penny shares aggressively, but are at least properly authorised and regulated.

Thanks for that, I promised myself no more Pac Con type deals. Only brokers I have approached first.

Regards John

FSA screening - or indeed that of other Reglators that I have come across is in need of a shake up and they need to sharpen their pencils in order to 'Protect The Public' .That should be their main principle & priority ''PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC'' - which is the 'regulators' claim. My experience with 'regulators' indicates that they are only interested in censuring or otherwise the perpetrator - although they say they do so to "protect the public" they have little or no interest in the Public and quote all kinds of Rules & Regulations preventing them from doing so. SURELY when a Licence is withdrawn from one of these 'OUTFITS' -maverick intermediaries/operators who BOAST about being ''REGULATED'' by a number of countries shown in their literature etc etc suggesting they have a 'SPECIAL STATUS'' or 'POSITION' in the Financial world- the Public should be made aware and steps taken to ''PROTECT THE PUBLIC'' . Various 'outfits' around the world find out where the weakest Regulator is and how it can find loopholes to circumvent the law of the country in which they choose to operate . One 'outfit' was operating from CHICAGO but when the heat came on it moved to PANAMA, creating distance from many investors 'looking for the scalp' ! How can one deal with this kind of thing ...it hints of 'mafia' tactics'
These 'boiler room scams' have been going on and are continuing throught Europe & rest of the world . Most of us know now that any 'outfit' claiming they are 'REGULATED' does not necessarily qualify them as an 'Honest Broker''. Having given 'authority' to act as a 'Financial Adviser/Broker/Intermediary by the 'FInancial Regulator' does'nt mean a thing. It 'to my cost' is absolutely essential to check out these chancers who offer 'free ! ! ! ' reports having poached a name off a share list register and tell "COLD CALLER" to GET LOST. Otherwise there will be nothing but GRIEF' GRIEF GRIEF..

IS Intersecurities GmbH, Frankfurt

IMPORTANT NOTICE
There have been a number of victims of IS Intersecurities GmbH . BaFin the German Regulator advised that their LICENCE was withdrawn July 2005. FSW Europe GmbH were associated as their name appeared on emails with the same Client Liason Officer who had been with IS Intersecurities. FSW Securities has changed name to CRESTON FINANCIALS. This is a rather disturbing matter compounded by the 'nominee' CALIFORNIA SECURITIES , SA (CSSA) once had address in CHICAGO and now at PANAMA !!! with whom IS Intersecurities GmbH & or their servants/agents or associates placed the share certificates. All interested parties who have been affected please email me at [email protected] if you wish to join in seeking redress.

Hi

Has anyone heard of Bishopsgate Capital Stockbrokers in London

Regards John @ Tramsteer

Yes, I was cold called by them.
Then was sent a glossy brochure.
Then I recieved a call about a stock which was going to move extremely fast and that I would have to make a fast decision.

I did!!
I told him to get lost and that they are a boiler room.

This also bought the best out of his vocal cords.

I , personally, would avoid them at all costs....as I would anyone who coldcalls and offers to make me rich v quickly...especially by investing in pre IPOs.

Has any one heard of Blackstone Nelson Newhouse Blackstone Nelson Newhouse these group of 5 people got the better of me and sucked me in. Initial call was Chris Roberts, next was Their Attorney- Paul Richards then their Leagal assistant- Betty Lewis then their client services manager

Sorry curtainmaker, not heard of them. What stocks have they tried and / or succeeded in selling you? Research of the stock name, may also provide some clues as the provenance of BNN and / or the stock itself.

I'm not so good on websites like this but have put messages on inviting folk to make contact re their experiences with the following intermediaries/brokers/dealers etc with addresses in Frankfurt and Berlin and if anyone has found a link/association between them also the names of Principals / officials with whom you have had contact. There is so much useful info on this website - could you tell me how to browse it !

OH .........by the way .re IS Intersecurities etc have you had letters from CALIFORNIA SECURITIES S A (CSSA) a 'nominee' outfit that had an address in Chicago, USA but now at PANAMA ?

Sorry but Blackstone Nelson Newhouse is a scam, the clue is in the name. It's also an 'accredited member' of a fake regulator or whatever it's supposed to be.

Use Whois lookup and Domain name search to check out how long the domains have been registered. Both are in the last 2 years but both sites say they've been in business for many years.

I don't mean to sound defeatist but there's little you can do to get your money back as every bit of information you will have been told would have been a lie.

Where did you pay money to? If a US bank in the US then maybe you might have a chance but if in some dodgy country then apart from that being another major clue, again there's little chance of getting any money back.

Again everyone use Whois lookup and Domain name search to check out any company it can tell you a lot.

Another pretty foolproof way to spot a scam company is to phone them on the number listed on their website (if they actually bother to put one in). If you get a recorded message then 99% scam. I've just tried both numbers, the company recorded and the fake regulator recorded.

Templeton Finance

CCat
Hope you haven't sent them any money. Not heard of them but wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. No matter what the deal is, don't be tempted.

Just introducing myself as a just joined newbie who came to this site because I did some research after being phoned by one Alex Lewis of Templeton Finance. Their website is still showing an address in Quebec and they are still punting Barrick Gold (which I noticed was the topic when Droyston wrote about them some years ago) and still offering to sell shares at a discount to market value. (I asked him to explain how, but have received only the rather lame explanation that they had acquired a large block of Barrick shares some time ago when they were lower and were now able to offer them to their clients at a significant discount.)

I was suspicious of their website and decided to Google the name Templeton to see if they featured and whether they were in any way connected with Franklin-Templeton, as I distinctly remember Lewis telling me they were. I also got him to send me an e-mail, but only after repeating my request today. Neither the e-mail nor the website bears any of the corporate stuff one would expect from a properly registered financial services firm - no registration number, no details of corporate status, company secretary, FSB registration, etc.

When I amended the search to Templeton Finance their site came up first, but fortunately I also found, a few places down the link to this thread, which has helped confirm my view that these guys are not to be trusted.

Thanks to you all.

i have worked for capital asset commodities, although someone on this thread has said that they are a chop shop aka a boiler room, i'm sorry to disappoint and be the bearer of bad news but they are a legitimate business.
however you are correct in assuming that they are not regulated by the fsa. this is because they are not actually required to be registered, as they are selling a physical product. by this i mean they are actually selling raw metals both industrial and precious. if capital asset were to regulated for selling metal then every jewellery store would need to be regulated to. the FSA however does recognise them to be a legitimate business. for more infor visit Capital Asset - Commodity Trading Specialist in Gold and Silver Investments
