Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

Does anyone here have any sage advice how they handle their emotions, the stress, the strain, the "what if?" of letting their winners run?

Obviously (like many on here) if I hadn't cut my DAX longs over the past 10 weeks or so, I'd be up about a zillion points/pounds by now. Obviously this is hindsight because the market could have and still can crash by a few hundred points at any given moment.

But regardless any pointers as to how other weigh up the pros/cons of holding longer term and avoiding the temptation to take a bunch of points profit would be welcome![/QUOT

build a trading system and automate the execution :sneaky:

easier said than done

Maybe a blast up to new all time highs coming, taking out all the early birds shorters, who will be then crying stop hunting

systems arent that good. there is a website called zulutrade where thousands of systems are running, over a 3 year period they are all generally poor. they tend to converge around 2%/growth each month. Spreadbetting casino is hard to beat, there is a very good series of videos I can point u to if u wathc u can appreciate the monumental task. the sb industry has a huge propaganda arm to brainwash people into thinking trading can be done using indicators and flash platforms , this is not trading

Postman, mind if I ask you what areas you shorted dax. Not being an a55 just with the action since 11500 last week it seems hard to pick shorts with confidence to me. I am not claiming to be an authority, maybe just trade longer time frames.
I ask as you seem to do well here and no what you are doing.
Thanks

Dax has hit the top of the trendline I drew earlier.
Gone short 1/3 of my position at 12026, big stop (considering were up 1000's of point in weeks ) will be taking a full position after Draghi has spoken. (Dont think he will have anything new to say) and he will have told all his cronies anyway so it wont shock the market.

Short Dax 1/3 again 12110
Stop 12145.

Didnt do me any good today though.
