My Brother-in-law is a cardiologist in Seattle & will be getting the vaccine on Thursday. My sister who is a pediatrician is hoping she will get to take her vaccine soon as well.
Finally some good news. This is great to be distributing the vaccines now. Thank Goodness we will have a new hope for 2021. We are all in this pandemic together. Certainly hope everyone can hang in there. Things should actually start to improve now.
We have struggled through some unsettling times this year. Maybe looking back on it we could reflect on what matters most. To me its life. Life is a precious gift & can be gone in an instant. It can be so beautiful yet so fragile. Family. Helping one another. Being there for one another through both the good & bad.
When we are pushed outside our comfort zones sometimes we gain the opportunity to grow. It can awaken us to things we never thought of or considered. Maybe Covid in a weird way has brought us together as people. If we set our goals to achieve something & commit to it we are capable of achieving some really great & wonderful things.
It reminds me of something I learned in my mental health studies for therapy.
Ok, the story goes like this... For runners, the 4 minute mile was sought to be impossible to achieve. Many different runners had tried & weren't able to achieve that 4 minute number. Then someone broke it down to a science. Studied the different running techniques & implemented them into his style. He tried different training excercises & workouts. Finally after much research, training & technology he actually did it! He broke the 4 minute mile! Then not to long after someone else broke it. Then a couple more folks did as well.
It was amazing. The new runners didn't research, study or implement new technology. They didn't modify their workouts, training or running techniques. What they did do was believe. They believed in themselves. They believed running that 4 minute mile was possible. Your mind is incredible, a very powerful tool you can tap into. You must first believe, then you will be much more likely to achieve.
Not trying to say just because you believe you can do something you will be able to do it. For the runners it is still extremely difficult to break the 4 minute barrier. But what made thinking it & achieving it a reality was believing.
Really neat & cool story.
Well, I'm gonna get going.
Talk to you all tomorrow.
What you can believe you can achieve.
Everyone stay safe & be well.
