I just put £20/point on them... most I can possibly lose is £180. I'm intending to keep the trade for a year or so, so effectively this is a leveraged medium term investment.

Reasoning: Essentially mean reversion; They're so crap already that it's hard to imagine them getting much worse, even with our cruddy retail sector (numbers out in half an hour btw). It's fairly easy to imagine them getting a lot better. Of course you can imagine the share value halving, but you can see it trebling just as easily.

Now... Would anyone like to convince me I haven't just lost £180?

" Woolworths "

Thats as bad as (March) Easy Jet -

They used to have a cool record section in the old days tho -
never been too keen on that Stelios guy -

Bargain basement when you compare market capitalisation to sales (y)

Value should come out on a 2 to 3 year view. If not, you'll lose most or all.

IF you personally like to shop there, it might be a good trade. IF you just buy as you think, it might be cheap, you just lost 180 pounds

I think the last time i shopped there was to buy a Duran Duran album maybe... -(they were big in the day) -

:p

Dunno if that's quite fair, I have very nice smelling fingers...

I'm not trying to pick a bottom, so much as pick a value where it is plausible the share price will exceed in the future. Actually, I might go and have a look in Woolworths now, nothing much seems to be happening at the moment, after all!

So, it's fallen further? Might as well average down. ;)

ETA: for any newbies reading that piece of advice. Ignore it. Buying more of a stock when it's falling generally will wipe out your account.

:D

It may or may not have fallen further, I'll only check it weekly or so. I was referrring to the contents of the store (complete tat). On the other hand, the customers appeared to be grannies, sexual deviants, and chavs, which I see as an expanding market.

Edit to add: I'm losing 90 pence on the position atm ;)

:D

Ahh!

Sexual deviants is an expanding market? So you're saying long sexual deviants? I don't know if I can. Nor would a granny make me go long. :D

I can quite clearly remember a MASSIVE queue outside woolleys when i was in school - Duran Duran were number 1 and the record section was always booming.(back in the days when music mattered) :p
Why DO the chavs go in there.? Ive wondered that..? :-0

:D

To ply them with wares or to be touched?

Oops, I see the line behind me. *steps backwards*

Time for extreme bottom feeding  ;)

Buy Order 3.49p, stop 1.99p, limit open :medieval:
