What ever happend to The Bramble

As the title says.

Just wondering if anyone keeps in touch with him and what's he up to now?
 
I hope i'm wrong, but I believe he may have actually passed away? :(
(think I saw it mentioned somewhere a year or so back)
 
I used to be in contact with him and we got on very well, despite earlier problems, but then he fell silent and didn't respond on any of his email addresses. I later heard from an excellent source that he had died.
I hope he found peace.
 
That is a shame, he was a great character, larger than life, whom I had many debates and friendly banter with. I still kind of miss him around hear.
 
Richard is correct and I think it was back in 2012 IIRC that I heard he had passed away.
 
For some reason i had a feeling that he's still here and he's a multi-nic ...

Really, really sorry to hear that.

Tony was the very first person I talked with here.

Not always an easy character, but who is, if you are someone like he was.

Will really miss him.

Rest in Peace, Tony, you were a good guy !!!

I'd be extremely surprised if that proved to be correct tar. The reason being that The Bramble is by far the best wordsmith ever to put virtual pen to virtual paper and post on T2W. His command of the language and use of grammar was brilliant; exquisite even at times. Someone who writes that well and took such pride in doing so would find it very hard to dumb down their style to avoid detection. I just don't think he'd do it.

Who told you that he did dumb down his style , i've seen his "writing skills" in a couple of posters here .

Sorry - I don't understand?
I'm saying I don't believe he has dumbed down his writing style - which he would need to do in order to avoid being rumbled as The Bramble.

I've seen his writing style/skills in a couple of new posters/nics , unless you guys are 100% sure that he's dead ...

Sad news. Bramble & Socrates. I remember them well. Is Soc. still upside on this earth , and how old was The Bramble , anyone know ?
 
Sad news indeed. He was a real asset to T2W, and a very approachable and decent guy once you'd earned your stripes, as it were, as someone he thought worthwhile talking to. A lot of the old guard have moved on, presumably because they got bored of writing the same things over and again, but to me the days when the likes of Socrates, The Bramble were in full flow on here were T2W's heyday. A shame I never got to meet him in person.
