Was a penalty!
There is no reason for placing hands on players. Especially when running when a minor touch will totally throw players off balance.
Diego Costa had arms wrapped around him last night by a Dutch defender and couldn't move. In front of referee. No penalty.
Problem I see is that different referees apply different levels of tollerance.
Really bugs me defenders arms moving out to hug a player.
I'm sure we'll see some penalties whilst others totally ignored.

Italy always slow starters so England have a chance.
However, with two good defensive sides and first match, I'm going for 1 - 1 draw. :whistling

I have a secret weapon for England concerning shirt pulling etc.
Make their shirts oily so the rascals can't hang on - WD40 ?
There is such big money and prestige, bribery may be present. Let's hope the officials will watch a replay and act accordingly .

Intriguing game to watch.
Rooney and Barkley on the same pitch doesn't seem to work.
Good to see mangers not scared to make sub changes.
Hopefully RH can drop WR from the start and play RB from the start.

Such a shame for England last night - we "upped our bar" - but so does all the other teams 🙁
I have been a Man U fan for over 25 yrs and I look upon Rooney as being great - BUT 4 -5 years ago - and nowadays question his energy and focus. Unfortunately he's just not a natural athlete - and if he is still smoking - how on earth can he hack it in a hot muggy climate.
Sterling is like a new young Messi and Barkley as the potential of a new Ronaldo - but it might be another few years until they become more complete
Pressure's on now - lets see what they are made of and I really hope they can at least get out the group

I think England missed Crouch or Owen characters up front.
Like not packing sun cream with our long ball game.
I thought Rooney did well. Maybe should only play half matches, good to mix it up. I think he should be a free man to go and roam where ever he wants. His earnt it imo.
Good performance and I was well happy. As they say it's not the defeat but how well one performs. For the first time in a very long while I felt postively vibrant watching England play football.
Italy never a bad side. Good game. 👍
