Trading equities question...

Hi,

I have been trading forex for some time now and now I want to open a small account to trade equities. I am use to trading forex where margin is needed and was wondering if margin is needed to trade U.S. equities? So if I had 10,000 dollars and wanted to invested all in one company could I do that?

If so I am guessing you get back whatever the stock is worth whenever you sell back the stock?

yes to that question and no to the requirement to use margin
