Hi Everyone,

I am new and also trying to get my head around what is spread betting. So far I have a demo account with T.r.a.d.e.f.a.i.r , during the last 24 hours I have gone from 10k GBP to 16k GBP (21 trades using virtual cash 😕 ) without thinking to much.

Dabled with

GB/USD Rolling Daily
UK 100 Rolling Daily

Please slap me and tell me it's not so easy with a real account and my real money :?:

I don't want to sign up for a real account and get burned 😈

Thanks for any useful feedback!!!

Here is a nice little example that should give you the slap you need:

In 2010 I ran a "real life" demonstration account which I took from £1500 to £2000 in a short time, and which I cashed out perfectly at the peak, so it was similar to your initial experience. I then re-invested the proceeds in a different spread betting account, and using exactly the same strategy I took the £2000 down to £500.

I've had my successes too, but they won't give you the slap you are looking for ;-)

Having said this, I think there is no substitute for learning using real money. So in your position I probably would open a real money account now, but would fund it with £1000 rather than £10,000.

I hope this helps.
