Just came across this: http://www.trade2win.com/boards/foyer/35097-any-detectives-here-10.html

Yeah, let's all have a good laugh, you've just potentially f*cked up someones life because you got a bit irate over their posts.

Don't get me wrong, S89 p*ssed me off. He p*ssed off a lot of people. Not only with his refusal to listen to anyone but his boasts about ripping people off. It got my back up a bit. But making a private conversation accessible on a public website and / or forwarding it to the Surrey Police?

That's a bit much.

S89 always made a big thing about how he wanted to be on the force. So well done to those that had a hand in destroying his hopes and aspirations.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And to those of you that don't know what I am talking about, take note: be very, very careful of what you post on public websites.

A family member recently told me that his company had been scouring MySpace / Facebook when they had CVs in and people were sometimes rejected on the strength of who they had in their friends list, let alone things that they are actually posting on forums. You write something stupid to be funny like under your list of interests you put: "recreational drugs" :) for a laugh and little do you know you're just lost your job opportunity.

Did he sign the application form "Spanish89"? Otherwise, how did the recruiting office find out? I have an idea there is a bit of BS going on here. In any case, it might be nothing to do with internet forums. Who knows what the police could have found out to put them off, since they do not have to give reasons for rejection.

I think the entire episode is regrettable and it doesn't feel nice.

But my conscience is clear - as GJ says what if he actually became a police officer?

spanish received a permanent ban earlier, he was caught out using yet another multinick to lie about his spanish identity here at t2w, even tried it on with admin also, and tried to denounce it was him posting here, as per the posts in the specials forum.

Perhaps in hindsight it would have been better to have shut him down earlier, then perhaps his personal life may not have suffered so, He was warned on several occasions to calm his posts down but he paid little heed to our warnings, like a troll he revelled in it all I believe.

It looks to have ended badly for him but he did bring his misfortune on himself, maybe he has learned a lesson in life the hard way this week.

I think you are jumping the gun there dante,

I don't think anyone here knows spanish's real name? So how would they inform the police about his dodgy activities if they don't know who he is?

Saying and doing are 2 separate things. Many threats and statements on forums are often tongue in cheek. I find it very doubtful someone went through the effort of finding out his name, where he applied to and the phone no of the recruitment dept. It doesn't add up and a personel officer is hardly likely to take notice of a random caller.

Assuming the reported later phone conversation is true and that he failed further security checks. This seems possible to me. If he has been scamming people on ebay then it's quite possible one of his scammees reported the incident to the police and as such the report will be on record.

It's quite possible that once security checks are done that other reviews take place and he fell through there. It could be that they just had too many applicants and needed to reduce them.

The fact is we don't know - so blaming someone on this forum is pointless (which I'm sure spanish is). I think it's highly unlikely it was anything to do with his activities online.

Personally I think his tirade on the specials forum has now sealed his chances of ever joining the force. Within one thread he demonstrated his immaturity, inability to tell the truth and flagging up his alleged crimes to the very people that you don't want to know them. I think the other posters were very diplomatic with him, but if I was a recruiter reading that thread I would be putting a special note against his file.

As one of the posters on the thread said - he's hardly the right material - and would you recruit a trader supposedly making £2k a day ? (!) (must be counting pence!!)

i am glad, we all know it was him and he has got what he deserved

good riddance to a total cheeseater

Im going to miss the little bugger.

He easily killed 10-20 minutes each and every day for me. Now what am I going to do?

lol, Oh well more porn I guess.

Having read this then I'm inclined to believe that some sort of search was done on him by the Police. This may or may not have been caused by an alert about his apparent illegal activities from this board. I doubt that would have been enough as the link is a bit dubious. More likely that he had a facebook account or similar in his real name and posted something a bit dodgy on there which would certainly be enough for a rejection.

He certainly didn't sound like police material to me - so I doubt he would have got through the interview process anyway.

The application form to join the surrey specials asks for a photo..

http://www.surrey.police.uk/Surrey_Special_Constable_Application_Form.pdf

This is why he removed his pic from his profile after he was grassed up..

However it was probably too late by then, and anyway his picture is all over the internet if anyone googles spanish89.

Are we going to re-hash everything I read on the policeforum? Just wondering if I need to put on some popcorn?

It's not a proven fact that anyone "grassed him up".

I would ask spanish if he has ever been interviewed by the police - or members of his family. It's this sort of stuff that will come up in checks.

Well the person that said they would grass him up certainly didn't do it - they were just having a larf.
All in all, I can't condone anything the kid's done and I think he got what he deserved - and I DON'T think it was anything to do with us.

The law enforcement agencies certainly do their due diligence, spanish89 obviously doesn't. He fails to forget that he turned up to a meeting that verifies him on many levels with reputible persons on this very site.

The U.K internet laws are THE toughest and strictest in the world, this gives the governing bodies permission to search your p.c whilst you are harmlessly browsing the net, in fact, all the time you are connected, and you wouldn't know about it.

This means, by the very possibilty that he claims it wasn't him can be found out to be a lie, not only by witnesses that could if needed verify (to which they already have in recognition) but also check his p.c. Lets not forget that MODerators of this site can check for multiple nicks by way of IP address, just think of what the police can do?

He was TOO honest with regards to his activities to the point of boasting his many 'proffessions'. Then goes onto a police forum to claim it was not him, another lie.

As for (as trader dante puts it)f*cking up his life:
Do we believe that spanish89 cared about the same, or others? SP89 himself claiming not to give a sh*t and that he would scam anyone. This is not in conjuction with his misguided trading/gambling to which, gambling regularly/fulltime is not favoured as a career prior to being a law enforcer. Before applying I would have thought he would have known to keep his nose 100% clean, this excludes: Lieing, cheating, abusing, insulting, rudeness, scamming (even boasting if not actually done) and constant gambling (to which spreadbetting is) then posting openly for the whole world to see. We all make mistakes but this is ridiculous.

I doubt he would act this way in front of the interviewer so why in front of the world?

Most know that (apart from gambling:)) these things are morally wrong.

Ignorance is not an excuse and is something that is ingrained in the government body.

Ask yourself, if he does not make it in the force, is this a bad thing?

I wouldn't want my tax money paying his wage on the fact of credible and conclusive evidence against his personality and nature.

shame about S89. I mean, he didnt even have the sense to change his nick on several forums!
hardly the master criminal type hiding his identity. nor the kind of activity a mediocre detective would have difficulty spotting.

dont forget there is now software that can evaluate writing styles and determine identity. (I think universities are using these things to pick out plagiarism from students)

anyway, I suspect the Poilce use simple credit-checking; if he was using credit cards to gamble, it would show up as possible problems.
and even if they were inclined to investigate, IP addresses could conceivably link ebay IDs (to complaints), T2W nicks and Police Forum IDs, etc.

so, lets not get all defensive about what happened to S89.
better it happened sooner rather than later when he may have been in a position of authority.

I think I am beginning to understand his desire to be a "special" police constable.
is that like "special" needs?

(nice day, except for EURUSD jinking about this morning giving me a false reversal signal. but GBPUSD and EURJPY kept me in the black. hope you guys had a good day too.)
have a good weekend.

EDIT: Lee beat me to it!!

In that case it really wouldnt suprise me if he panicked and contacted surrey police recruitment on the 17th himself trying to clear his name even though no one had grassed him up...

Well - he's a thief & he ****s underage girls. Of course - that's just by his own admission & he is more than likely lying on both counts. He's a bull**** artist.

He's had a life lesson that will stand him in good stead for the future. I know many that are still like him in their 50's.

A guy like that wouldn't have gotten on the force anyway - he's got too many issues.

Trader_dante,

Tom,
Sorry dude, I have the upmost respect for you as a person and hold you in a high regard reference your trading skills and the knowledge you so freely give. I enjoy reading your posts as most are very informative but......

He f*cked his own life, hopes and aspirations in this avenue, he'll have to find another career unless he makes some massive improvements to his attitude and personality.

just for the record, when gumping asked me if I had carried out my threat to report spanish to Surery Police, I hadn't yet done so.
But I subsequently did.

I doubt that this was what caused his rejection from the Police - I warned him of the vigorous nature of the Vetting process
But I wish it were the reason for his rejection. I have absolutely no doubts, reservation, qualms or regrets in playing whatever small part to keep him off the Force

He is a menace to himself and would be a menace to society - would you really want your teenage daughter's security on a Saturday night out be in the hands of someone like this ?

I'm no fan of Peelers per se, but I worked alongside enough brave RUC lads to know I would never want spanish claiming to be "one of them". It would be a gross insult.

Quis Separabit, f*ck him

and those with any last vestiges of sympathy for him (why ???), remember he didn't even know the differece between the Special Constabulary and Special Branch

the c#nt never even bothered watching the Sweeney to do his homework !!

(and yes I know the Sweeney is the FS b4 anyone takes me to task)

Gosh, I stand corrected.

I think that was a bit harsh. I'm not a fan of spanish and I find the idea of him being a policeman ludicrous but I think it should have been the forces job to decide that, not someone from T2W.

However, I was witness to the insults to rath's child so I understand why he did what he did.
