Hello again A0nghus,

It's volatile out there today. Eur.Usd up this am, but tanking south now.

Stick a chart up next time with your entry, target, stop location and I can have a better look at it.

Losing trades are part of trading but stop-losses keep us in the game.

Kind Regards,

Hi all,

I follow this thread just a view days and I'm very impressed about this good system.

I just checked my forex pairs with the 3 Ducks rules and I found here a lot of chances to trade. Is it possible that this pairs are all hopeful trades at the moment?

USD/Yen short
USD/CHF short
USD/HKD short
AUD/USD long
NZD/USD long
EUR/USD long
EUR/GBP long
GBP/YEN short
GBP/USD long

Because I'm a newbie the question: Does it make sense to trade all of the above pairs with a small lot when the signs are all in the rules of the system. Or is it better at the moment to wait till the volatility decreases? Or is it better to trade only the major pairs?

:innocent:

Hi Guys, I'm doing a bit of work on this to see the results from automation (NinjaTrader) and I'm wondering if anybody has kept a log of trades made over the last X number of weeks that they would be willing to share? For example, on date X and time Y went long EUR/USD. Thought it would be interesting to see if I'm identifying the same entries in code. I'd be happy to share the results of my findings if anyone's interested.

cheers,
Al

Hello Nala,

It would'nt make a lot of sense to trade all of the above because some of the above are cross pairs, so you could be maybe taking a similar position twice ie Long Eur.Usd and Long Eur.Gbp - You have just bought the Eur twice.

My advive to you would be to stick to the majors and yes volatility can be a pain for most systems, so use the ducks as a guide in addition to your own market knowledge.

Hello Altrade2win,

Why don't you forward test the system and then you will have your OWN results :smart:

Kind regards,

Hi everbody

I am planing to use the duck system with Bollinger Bands set at 60 SMA with 2SD. The middle band tracks the 60 SMA, and using the upper and lower bands as price targets. I don't know if anybody has tried it? Looking back at my charts it seems to make it easier at identifying price targets.

Regards

Peter

Thanks CC :)

Peter, haven't really tried it but have been playing about with BBs on the charts and I think the idea is sound. Can't comment about in practice though. Good luck.

One question for you.

Hello Traders,

Just thought I would share The 3 Duck's Trading System with you.

Captain:

Great system and thank you very much for posting it.

I need clarification on one aspect if possible.

If price is above or below the 4 Hr 60 SMA and also the 1 Hr 60 SMA, the instructions state something to the effect that you wait until the price then moves above or below the 5M 60 SMA to enter.

That seems to imply that when you switch the chart to the 5M mode that the price will at that time likely will not already be above or below the 60 SMA and you should therefore expect to wait for it to break through the 60SMA to make your entry. In most cases if the first two condiditions are met I am finding that the price is already above or below the 5M 60 SMA, which I am assuming means you are therefore immediately ready to place your entry.

Is my assumption correct?

Thanks in advance for your reply and once again thanks for this exc(y)ellent strategy.

Rico.

Hi Captain,

very simple, yet effective system! Thanks!

I have tested it for some time and it seems that strongest moves often happen when price on
H1 crosses SMA60 for the first time (having SMA60 on H4 in line, of course). For example, often, when I tried to add to my long position and price just crossed SM60 on M5 (without dropping below on H4 and H1) moves were not that strong.

Do you have similar experience?

Thanks again!

Dropped on my head as a child.

Rico, Rico, Rico what are we going to do with you?

Cappy my boy,

I am sure your heart is in the right place, btw I am a doctor, but apparently not a smart enough one to still be clear on what you are TRYING to say.

In the first two charts the price is indeed above the 60 SMA. Price is below the 60 SMA in the third example (5M) chart except for at the top of one bar which just crosses the 60 SMA. Is that your point of entry? But price then continues afterward definitely below the 60SMA for quite a distance, which doesn't say too much for the system as a long entry at that first crossing would not have done too well at all.

So put it in easier terms for me and the others that may not be be as brilliant as I am.

English is actually my third language, so maybe that's my problem.

Muchos gracias amigo,

Rico:smart:

I read everything again for the third time and now I understand.

Now if you can just tell me how to explain to my wife how I managed to lose 5000 USD this afternoon goofing around on my computer, I will be a happy guy.

I'll  tell her I spent it on porn. That she will believe at least.

Just kidding.

Thank you for your help and the system and don't worry, I'll get the 5 grand back at the track tonight.

Thanks for everything.

Rico

3 ducks lined up nicely a couple of times today on eur/usd, now if i could only get to grips with my risk management...

Hello David,

Do you mean buy? :-0

Kind regards,

Argh yes! And you know what, I originally typed "buy" and then later edited it to sell!
Thanks. Also noted that If I had taken the trade when posted, would be 50pips up already.

UPDATE: Would have got 75 pips out of this move.
